The End of the Sun is a first-person, adventure, story-driven mystery game, set in the fantasy world of Slavic beliefs, legends, and mythical creatures. The small village becomes a place of enigmatic events, through which the line between myth and reality begins to fade perilously.
As the ashter, a Slavic sage sorcerer gifted with the ability to travel in time and knowledge about the otherworld, following the trail of the unusual fugitive, you come to a mysterious village. Unfortunately, you cannot find anyone there, at least not in the way you expected to. All you can see around you are burned hearths.
The game is inspired by Slavic mythology and legends. The story presents the mysterious events occurring during the major Slavic festivals in all four seasons, far away from each other in time. The gameplay is a mix of exploration and adventure mystery games with unorthodox riddles to solve, but the storyline comes first here.
Photogrammetry of ethnographic museums – To get unique graphics, we visited ethnographic museums. We scanned hundreds of objects and entire buildings, so you can admire them in the game the way they actually are.

Time travel – Teleport between four main seasons far away from each other by many years. Get to know the stories of the same heroes at different stages of their lives. Use your power to solve the mystery!

Non-linear and engaging story – Experience particular immersive stories at your own pace and at the moment you feel like it.

Consequences of time manipulation – Set the paths of fate and bring the course of events back on the right track to discover further fragments of the game world and story. Events from the past have an impact on the future.

Slavic culture – Enjoy not only the immersive story but also look at the long-forgotten everyday activities and objects that are no longer used today.

Exploration and Open World – Travel between the homesteads and the surroundings of the village, discovering pieces of the mystery that lies somewhere there.

Dynamic environment – The time of day, weather, and lighting change smoothly and dynamically right before your eyes as you discover parts of the mystery.

A super Prologue, the graphics are spectacular but the best thing is the song by Domovoj
It pulls you in from the very first minutes: the atmosphere of campfires, mist, and Slavic tales really hits the mark. The voice acting is excellent and the music adds even more depth. If you enjoy games that you experience rather than just play through, it’s definitely worth trying.
i played a bit of this and quite enjoyed it, clearly a lot of passion, interesting cultural myth and lore wrapped up in here. Having said that a few issues - - i couldn't find a controller option, I managed on keys but it stopped getting through more if this and fully immersed as that's what I find more comfortable. couldn't seem to switch - I understand the reason the world is presented as it is but I found it a bit hard to get into it the way it was presented as it felt just a little too disjointed and confusing but possibly I didn't give it enough time. I'm going to keep an eye on it still and try it again. I enjoy immersive games and cultural lore and heritage learning. Hope this team keep going and maybe make a few refinements and also find great new projects. I'm sure I'll come back to this again. a beautiful world
This is a seriously must have position for people that are interested in slavic culture. It is and indie game but has a high production value. Additionaly I recommend it to all the people that like puzzles and narrative games.
Bardzo dobry przedsmak pełnej gry. W skondensowany i przyjemny sposób oddaje najważniejsze elementy rozgrywki.

Developed by The End of the Sun Team and published by The End of the Sun Forge, The End of the Sun: Prologue is an atmospheric narrative adventure that introduces players to a world shaped by ancient Slavic traditions, forgotten rituals, and supernatural mysteries. Rather than delivering an action-heavy experience, the game focuses on careful exploration, immersive storytelling, and environmental detail. As a standalone prologue, it serves as an engaging first chapter that establishes the setting, introduces key gameplay mechanics, and offers a meaningful glimpse into the larger adventure awaiting in the full release. It immediately distinguishes itself through its commitment to folklore and historical authenticity, making it appealing to players who appreciate story-driven experiences over fast-paced gameplay. The story places players in the role of an ashter, a mystical wanderer with the extraordinary ability to travel across different points in time. Upon arriving at an abandoned settlement where only extinguished hearths and lingering memories remain, the player is tasked with uncovering the truth behind the village's disappearance. Instead of presenting the mystery in a linear fashion, the game encourages investigation by allowing players to witness the same location throughout different seasons and years. Every journey through time reveals additional details about the villagers, their traditions, and the events that gradually shaped their fate. This layered approach to storytelling keeps the narrative engaging because every discovery adds context to previous encounters while raising new questions that motivate further exploration. One of the game's greatest accomplishments is its remarkable presentation. The environments have been built using photogrammetry, with authentic historical buildings, artifacts, and cultural objects scanned from real-world ethnographic collections. This attention to detail creates a world that feels grounded in genuine Slavic heritage rather than relying on generic fantasy aesthetics. Wooden homes, handcrafted decorations, ceremonial spaces, and natural landscapes all contribute to an environment that feels believable and lived in. The lighting, weather effects, and seasonal variations further enhance immersion, transforming each visit through time into a visually distinct experience. The result is a setting that is not only beautiful but also educational, offering players a chance to experience historical influences rarely explored in modern games. Gameplay revolves around observation, puzzle solving, and environmental interaction instead of combat. Players are encouraged to inspect objects, connect clues across different timelines, and use their ability to revisit locations in order to solve mysteries that span many years. The puzzles are thoughtfully integrated into the narrative, rewarding logical thinking and careful attention rather than trial and error. Exploration remains the primary focus throughout the experience, allowing players to progress at their own pace while appreciating the world-building. Although the prologue offers only a portion of the mechanics planned for the complete game, it introduces enough variety to demonstrate the potential depth of the full adventure without overwhelming newcomers. The audio presentation plays a significant role in strengthening the atmosphere. Ambient sounds from nature, subtle musical compositions, and carefully delivered voice performances combine to create an emotional sense of solitude and mystery. Quiet moments often carry just as much weight as dramatic scenes, allowing players to absorb the surroundings and reflect on the unfolding story. Rather than relying on constant musical intensity, the soundtrack enhances important discoveries while preserving the peaceful yet haunting mood that defines the game. This restraint makes the world feel authentic and reinforces the emotional impact of the narrative. While its relatively short length means the experience concludes just as many of its mysteries begin to unfold, that limitation is understandable for a prologue whose primary objective is to establish the world and encourage interest in the full release. It successfully introduces its central mechanics, memorable setting, and intriguing cast without feeling like a simple technical demonstration. Instead, it functions as a satisfying opening chapter that leaves players wanting to learn more about its mythology, characters, and unresolved mysteries. The End of the Sun: Prologue stands out because of its dedication to authentic cultural inspiration, thoughtful storytelling, and immersive exploration. Its combination of time travel, historical accuracy, environmental puzzles, and folklore creates an experience that feels distinctive within the adventure genre. Players looking for constant action may find its deliberate pacing slower than expected, but anyone who enjoys rich world-building, mystery, and narrative-focused gameplay will likely appreciate what this prologue has to offer. It succeeds in laying a strong foundation for the complete game while proving that carefully crafted atmosphere and meaningful storytelling can be just as compelling as spectacle. Rating: 7/10
