The Elysian Field is a short asset flipped 3D third person walking simulator slapped together with Unity and a bunch of Synty assets. While the writing for the walking sim is slightly better than most asset flip garbage, it's hard to recommend such a simple game where apparently very little work was done by the "developer" and almost all of it grabbed from asset stores. It's short and not all that interesting as you plod around a Synty asset field with a Synty low poly character getting short bits of text. I've written game reviews that had more writing than this "game" does. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. That's right, only 2. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is to be expected. Gamers just didn't take this low quality game seriously, and for good reason. The game contains stock/store assets and other packages, but the "developer" here hasn't credited the people who actually did the work for the game. While this isn't necessarily against the license for the use of those assets, claiming the work of others as your own is unethical. Gamers should be made aware when a developer behaves unethically, as buying games from unethical developers puts the gamers money at risk. The Elysian Field is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer (using someone else's assets and not crediting them, as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend.

For what its said to deliver - this game was a pretty good short emotional and atmospheric experience. If there is anything I learned from it, its that we should value our lives, because nobody knows what will happen tomorrow. And when tragedy strikes, those we care about come to the forefront of our minds.
A short piece of art. https://youtu.be/VhdzbOpx5IE
Me in the Corner
What a lovely little introspective journey. Take 5 or 10 minutes and reflect on your own life. What are you notions of the hereafter? Would you change anything if you found out you were wrong? I loved this.
A small, short, little walking simulator that takes you through the last moments of a soldier's life and what happens after. It is pretty. It is soothing. There are some thought provoking sequences...pieces of text really. I'd love for there to be voice acting though. https://youtu.be/IW7a7TYykqA

This game is as beautiful of a game as a game this short can be. Absolutely love it! *SPOILER* Warning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6EKrgvZGHY&t=185s I highly recommend that every people open their mind and heart up and give this game a play. it's short and sweet and will make you think about the meaning of your life.. while you are here now. I only wish every indie developer showed us the heart this indie dev does with this excellent short adventure! This game won my rare "Zaxtors Indie Gold" award that I usually only give to about one game a month, where dozens of games fall short of getting my ZIG award. Excellent work @ dev! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! My score: 9.5 out of 10
