Can I recommend this game? YES! I CAN! Seriously, I can't say a single bad thing about it. Okay. I found like two errors. A missing word and one typo? Something like that. Oh, and how dare those Voice-Actor not sticking like 100% of the time to the exact words!? No seriously, there is nothing wrong here. It's perfect. It's beautiful, it's funny, sad, heartwarming, heartbreaking, mysterious, insteresting.... Yes, yes, I'll stop. The slow unraveling of MCs mystery, combined with the comanions growing closer. Falling in love alongside the characters. Yes, in the end all three romance options took a part of my heart. But Leos stayed true to his profession: He just killed me. His story. His unraveling. His voiiiiiceeee *melts* Combine a great story with beautiful art, music and yes, voices, and you get The Divine Speaker. I regret not a single second of this. And honestly? If there was a narator, I'd probably listen to it right now again.
This novel surpassed all my expectations!😍 If only I'd known how awesome it is I'd have bought it much earlier. Just thinking it was released several years ago... why, where was I at that moment, how could I miss this gem?! T_T Praises : +The story is really captivating! It's been a while I felt so engrossed by the plot and was wondering what the heck was going on. I want more similarly engaging novels! <3 The main mystery is the same in every route, so it becomes slightly less enthralling after the first good ending. But even in this case the text is not entirely skippable! There are really many new dialogues every time revealing new interesting sides of the characters. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3567026543 +Art is gorgeous. All the characters are breathtaking! And I think it's the first novel where I see all the main chars change the way they look somewhere in the middle of the story. New clothes, hairstyle etc can really do wonders. And then they all are briefly shown as kids or just when they are much younger. I wish the characters in other novels got the same level of attention and care as here. It's amazing! <3 It's even hard to choose which way I love more, they all are just too beautiful in any variant. And intimate scenes are especially stunning! +I can't stop appreciating adult novels without patches, dlc, blurry censorship and all that annoying ♥♥♥♥. Though I was really more fascinated by the plot here. It's so rare for yaoi games. I'm glad this one is an exception. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3590556411 +It's fully voiced! I'd have finished it much faster but I just couldn't proceed without listening the pronounced lines till the end. I mainly have Japanese voiced novels, so having one more English story is really precious. To my dismay I even found out a couple of words I mispronounced T_T +I obtained all the emoticons and a couple of backgrounds. They are just too pretty! I don't remember the last time I wanted to craft a badge but absolutely everything here is so lovely. + Steam guide! I've obtained all the endings and achievements myself, except Cyne's bad ending. So I'm really grateful I didn't have to waste time replaying again and again to find it. Complaints : --Typos. Too many T_T I even double-checked if the devs are native speakers but only English is presented as an available language on the steam page but it's so hard to believe one can mix its and it's practically in every sentence O_o The whole number of such mistakes is just unacceptable. It was too distracting to read. But on the brighter side it's actually my only serious complaint. If only they edited the text, the novel would become just perfect for me. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3592103477 --The Codex is an amazing feature, I always appreciate some kind of in-game encyclopedia but several times clicking the underlined word I saw no new information at all. Some words pronounced and written slightly differed. One typo
“her arms” when the char had only one
felt especially mean. Unfortunately, the game really is not polished enough :( --I prefer novels where all other LIs in other routes are not limited by the main character. I mean they still can find their own happiness, enjoy their life to the full without dating mc. But here it was too heartbreaking to watch Fawn suffering when he was not chosen T_T It's hard to fully enjoy other routes without feeling guilty :( I lloved this story immensely. I'd like to replay it one day. I was truly on cloud nine when I found another Divine Speaker novel in my library, plus bought one afterstory. So I can't wait to enjoy more of my dashing boys <3

[th]More thoughts about the game in a Reading Nook [/th]

LEOS THE MAN THAT U ARE
Best bl novel on steam
I am not done with my first playthrough (I'm romancing Leos) and I have so many gripes that I'm not sure I will complete it. As everyone mentioned, the art is fantastic (and there is voice acting but I don't usually care about that). However, a visual novel needs sharp writing, and this game doesn't have it. Dialogue is repetitive, and goes into wild tangents about characters we don't care much about. Background stories and "how they met" scenes go on for a long time, and they often have nothing to do with the current plot or the main character. We are told to care about one NPC who is so minor and frankly uninteresting, but he becomes a major plot point. I cannot understand why the MC gives a ♥♥♥♥ about this NPC or why I should either. The slow burn is also too slow, tediously so. There's a fine line between drawing out tension and just being annoying, and this game seems to fall squarely in the second category. I had to skip through huge sections of story that really wasn't engaging to get to one scene with Leos where the MC and he chat and get embarrassed and then it's RIGHT BACK TO THE BORING PART. The stakes are low, the story is uninteresting and the romance only irritates me. YMMV, but I can't recommend this.
BOTTOM RAEN ALL THE WAY
veras
I don’t know if everyone’s standards are in the gutter, or if they just never played a visual novel, but man this ain’t it. I could only stomach 11 minutes before closing it and requesting a refund. The character art is seriously lacking. It reminds me of those “how to draw anime” books you’d find in the library. Big eyes, weirdly portioned faces, generic, just blah. The voice acting is freaking atrocious. It’s in English and I wouldn’t be surprised if the voice actors were just random people plucked off the street. The sound quality is awful and in a game like this it’s pretty important to have voice actors who are worth listening to. Raen (the MC) has the most nasally annoying voice I’ve ever had the misfortune of listening to. Not to mention there’s an old lady at the beginning who looks 80 but has the voice of a 30 year old and a small child who sounds like he is experiencing early puberty. The UI also looks like crap. I hate this game.
The story is great, immersive, time flies when you play, the voice acting is good. A very good game.
This game has me yelling and screaming like the Skyrim skeleton
