As you start up the game and watch the intro, you can't help thinking of Day of The Tentacle. Even the title is a reference to that in some way. There will be other references during gameplay including other games and movies. As for the story: it revolves around a jellyfish trying to take over the world... in the middle of it are two singers, Hank and Duck, who set out to ensure that whatever happens, they will be able to hold their own concert. I felt like playing a LucasArts game from the olden days. The pixelated graphics and the old-fashioned inventory at the bottom of the screen all reminded me of the studio. Controlling is pretty straightforward - we can interact with a lot of things and the option to pick up something only appears once we did this initial interaction which often just means our protagonists observe the item and say something. Given that this is an indie game and can be completed in less than 30 minutes, I was surprised to hear proper voice-acting. Even if it was just done for the main characters, I believe this is commendable. I had fun with this game but too bad this is not something that will be expanded upon. The library of the developer does not include a longer version (initially I thought this was a sort of free prologue only).

The story kicks off with a setup reminiscent of a classic favorite, but instead of a tentacle, it’s a jellyfish that’s wandered too close to factory pollution and decides to storm the shore. Worse yet, it rallies others to its cause, creating a whole army of jellyfish. Caught in the chaos are three friends who play in a band, dragged into the mess simply because they are scheduled to perform there. You control two of the characters, switching between them by clicking on their portraits. The reason for the separation is that one of them has a broken foot and can’t make it down to the beach. Each character has their own goals and items to collect, so they never need to meet or exchange inventory. Gameplay follows traditional point-and-click conventions: you guide the cursor across the screen in search of hotspots, interacting with them via the left mouse button (the right button serves no purpose). Clicking a hotspot brings up a row of possible actions. Usually, the first available option is “examine,” which can then unlock further actions like picking something up or using it. Talking is possible too, but since everyone has a jellyfish stuck on their head, conversation only results in getting zapped. Even the band’s third member isn’t spared. Item interaction works as expected. You activate an item from the inventory and use it on a hotspot, or combine items directly. The game keeps things streamlined, with only a small number of usable objects and hotspots, making solutions fairly straightforward. The one real challenge comes from a keypad puzzle, where you need to match musical notes to the correct keys to uncover the code. The entire adventure takes about 30 minutes to complete and acts as a brief introduction to a larger game featuring the same trio.
Basically a 30 minute tech demo for the upcoming Escape from 8-Bit High game. Instead of a prologue though it's a standalone Day of the tentacle parody albeit with no item swapping between the 2 playable characters. Good for a quick 100% achievement run.
Amazing small game, with not much to do. but for a small game would def recommened trying it out
A short but epic jaunt through late 80s nostalgia that you can't help but love.
It is a really fun short, the Day of the Tentacle-inspired game with weirdly almost too many Barbie Girl references.
Follow us for more Awesome Adventure
Fantastic, voiced 30-40 minutes Point and Click Adventure game, a loving parody homage to Day of the Tentacle, any Point and Click Aficionado will enjoy
Pros - Nice pixel art - Good voice acting - Decent puzzle design - Good dialog and story - Free Cons - Nothing really Essentially a demo; Looking forward to see what these guys can do with a bigger scope and budget.
My gambling addict friend said if I post a review and it gets 150 likes and 50 Awards that he will buy me a case of beer, some vodka and 1 kg of lemon So im just gonna leave this here. Мой друг-игроман сказал, что если я опубликую отзыв и он наберет 150 лайков и 50 наград, он купит мне ящик пива, немного водки и 1 кг лимона, так что я просто оставлю это здесь.
Old school, short and fun!
