I tried this game expecting a decent playthrough. The initial area has monsters that hit too hard and give too many poison effects. The part of the game that annoys me the most is that if it is fullscreen the sound does not work. When not in fullscreen, the game window is so small on my screen that I can not make up much other than basic direction. Also, I have trouble interacting with things whether I click on it or use the keyboard. A rather clumsily made game. Story from the summary sounds promising, yet I can not very well enjoy it in the state that the game is in at the moment.
basic game story- plenty of money available- good equipment found in chests- great areas to explore - what I did not like was TP hard to fill so spells etc were a waste of time- need potions to help refill TP- otherwise a great small game
Quite a nice game, but short, hence not recommending it. Took me 5 hours to complete (the 5.8 shown is because of leaving it doing nothing while I did other things), and quite a bit of that was making my way back through all the dungeons - already emptied of monsters and so quite boring to do.
The Darkest Road *Rating* 7/10 *Overall Gameplay* The length of this game shocked me because the last two games I played from this creator were longer. This gameplay is about 12 hours, and the storyline is straightforward. Its characters are okay. I don’t have much to say, but it’s a decent game. *Recommendation* I recommend this game if you want short gameplay and a straightforward storyline. It’s not mind-blowing, challenging, or something out of the ordinary. Yet it was okay to play and enjoyable for a day.
I was just looking to kill some time before diving into a decent game. Well, this one's a way to kill time, but it's no fun. It starts with the, well, incredibly far-fetched story. Then there's the poor programming (RPGMaker...should be easy enough) where you can walk right through otherwise solid objects. And finally, it all culminates in unfair battles. I mean, you barely get any money for winning, but the enemies are so tough that you either have to spend all your money on potions (which, by the way, barely heal you) or go back to an inn after almost every other fight. And we're not talking about a €1-2 game here. No, I absolutely cannot recommend it.
