Two endings. Try to get both!
We made this game in one week. Debugging and further touch-ups took two months. We never created pixel art or original music before, but we used this project as an opportunity to push ourselves outside our comfort zone and grow more independent as a team of two. Above all else, Backspace Backspace Backspace is our love letter to every creative soul out there. Keep making!
Because we appreciate transparency, and to help you save your money, here's what this game is not:
A "long" game. We made this game with compactness in mind. Expect no more than 20 minutes of gameplay.
A flawless game. Backspace Backspace Backspace is a small project made in a limited time frame, with limited experience, and virtually no resources, with the intent of learning how to make a game from scratch. Naturally, it will have technical issues. We are still working on them, but we don't want this game to hold us back from focusing on our next project. If you encounter a bug, please let us know.
We have many more games lined up in the near future. If you already purchased Backspace Backspace Backspace and would like to support us further, we would be immensely grateful to you. Leave us a review, tell your friends about this game, or purchase the Backspace Backspace Backspace soundtrack (which is also available on YouTube for free).

Amazing Amazing Amazing - Wish it was longer and got more endings. Also I’m struggling to get the last achievement
An interesting short game commenting on the current state of creatives within our world, especially in relation to the advent of modern generative AI. The entire experience can be completed in around 15 minutes, including all achievements. Taking into account all the information about the time, experience, and resources that went into the game, I would say it turned out quite well. The sound design meshes quite well with the graphic side and overall atmosphere of the game. The text is a bit overdramatic at times, but it fits within the idea of the meta-narrative the game creates. Overall, the game is only a dollar and it's a very short experience, so if this type of thing sounds interesting then give it a shot. This also game reminds me a lot of Milk Inside/Outside a Bag of Milk series both in relation to narrative tone and plot details, so I definitely think this game was in some way inspired by those games. Also, I appreciate the transparency aspect a lot as it is something many large developers lack when putting out games, but consider dialling it back a bit for prospective buyers. I anticipate the next game and I hope the experience from making this game allows the developers to create a much better future game.
Very short with a clear message. Relates to creative and mental struggles, especially in relation to AI. Reminds me of "Milk outside a bag of milk" + pretty nice sound + dark vibes, kinda scary + pixel art is sparse, but supports the story very well + cool credits somehow :)
As a writer myself, this game quickly caught my interest. However, the game was just okay in my opinion. If I could give a neutral review I would. The message and spirit were present it just seemed to be lacking something. Also I could not tell if the game was referencing or ripping off of Milk Inside a Bag of Milk Inside a Bag of Milk Inside a Bag of Milk, which is a game I love dearly, and a game that this game is clearly inspired by at the very least. It is worth the price and the time. It took me 18 minutes to complete and in addition, 100% the game. I also enjoyed the soundtrack. If I had to give it a number rating, which is something I do not typically like to do, it would be a 5/10. Overall, it is worth a shot if it is on sale.
Çevirisi olsun fikri olsun ben çok beğendim üzerine düşündürüyor yazarın notu da çok hoş. Destek olmak için alınır yarım saatte oyunun bütün başarımlarını açabilirsiniz
I found this game extremely relatable as someone who wants to pursue creative fields. The game is about an author who deals with the struggle of creation in the face of the rise of AI technology, impostor syndrome, and depression. The visuals of the pixel art does a great job contributing to the atmosphere of this game. It's a short game with a wonderful message that many could relate to in this modern era. This was a good experience. I hope to see future projects, and I highly recommend this to those pursuing creative endeavors.
Backspace (x3) keeps hitting too close to home despite the fact that i'm not ___ ,i don't do his job nor have his hobby. Ironically... The Writing was excellent (in both EN&AR) but i don't buy that the music was made in a week or two by a complete novice The game ends before you know it (Edit:You can replay it) Or maybe it ended just in the right time before becoming too deep for a gamer, and too shallow for a reader?
This game really makes you FEEL like a painter with ten broken fingers
Listen, I really love this game despite how short and simple it is. its been pretty therapeutic as someone who is having to deal with AI and having friends getting screwed over by AI. To the Developers, thank you for taking the time to make this game and I hope you work on other little gems like this one.
a short game that you might as well pick up for 99 cents. homemade pixel art, really cool music, only made in 1 week! love it
