About
The Crawling Dead is a strategy simulation game where you take on the role of a lead scientist tasked with saving Stormveil National Park from ecological collapse. Swarms of invasive insects are devastating the park’s delicate ecosystems, and traditional methods of pest control have failed. Your solution? Genetically engineered parasitoid wasps. Harmless to humans, these beneficial wasps are killers of pest insects and utilize a variety of creepy strategies to manipulate and kill their hosts - turning them into The Crawling Dead!
Design and deploy a variety of specialized wasps to target different invasive species, adapting to changing seasons, terrain types, and resistance patterns. From alpine meadows to desert canyons, each biome presents unique challenges and different pest insects that require careful planning and scientific precision. Create the most efficient and effective parasitoid wasps to save the national park and restore ecological harmony.
Balance science, speed, and strategy as you guide the park’s recovery from spring through the first snowfall of winter. Every wasp release counts. Every adaptation matters. And if your wasps fail, the invasive wave of pest insects will damage the ecosystem for good.
Will your engineered wasps be enough to turn the tide?

I played this game because I watched a documentary on PBS about Emerald Ash Borer and the game just so happened to pop up in my feed. Reminds me of edutainment games of the 90s, maybe with a bit more entertainment. It is free, so why not check it out for a moment?

Ok, ok, it's bad! You populate the planet with all kinds of insects? and you create for them how they have immunity and how they reproduce! It's bad! That's all I'm saying!
Someone is either passionate about insects or has a trauma with them!!! Whatever, this game held my attention for almost an hour! But some mini-games pissed me off! like the random letters mini-game! I swear I press the opposite keys. The game show Q M W A I press O M V A 100/10
This game is similar to Plague Inc in that you spread a "disease" like wasp around an area trying to eliminate some invasive species of insects. It differs in that there is a lab that lets you create new variants of wasps releasing new ones every time and they can all be active at the same time. There's also minigames that pop up on the map that give you points to make a new wasp variant. In general I think it's not bad but it's really lacking. The idea of having multiple wasp types working on different population of insects is interesting but it doesn't have much else going on for it. The research tree is limited and the minigames that are there are kinda just annoying and get in the way of the gameplay loop but without them the game has very little gameplay or replayability. It's interesting to learn about parasitic wasps but it doesn't have enough to keep you interested in the game.
It's like being an terrorist but bug form
This is a really well thought out game and it's a lot of fun to experiment with the wasp building. Also, this game is 100% true to science!!
yes
