Unfortunately not an enjoyable experience. The UI design is frustrating, the game play is vexing. On a positive note, the theme itself is quite good - if you have a deep love for 1930's crime then you may just enjoy it, but again, be ready to click back and forward on what could have been streamlined much more nicely!
I hade fun playing the game I do like this type of games. Problem with the game is I never got to be the last Don in the city. I understand the developers are working on a new version that is gonna fix some of the problems with the game. The Commision dont do much after a while you controll most of the city and th votes are in your favor. Thats fine your power should reflect your position on the commison. But there are not much more to the commision then you vote on diffrent rules that are in action until the next time you vote again. I would like to see more alliences between diffrent famelie and cities. Being abel to invest in maybe more then just diffrent rackets. Maybe have smuggling to support your bars and drugs selling in bars and prostitues. Just there is more things you could have between diffrent rackets. If you controll unions you could get more political controll and boost smuggling operation. Now its just unions and som perks and money, The roleplay aspect in the game can be better with attributes for gang members. Maybe have something like making somebody a made man promoting to capo and other stuff that could have effects on your gang. One memeber maybe dont like another and maybe have so that members are ambitious and dangerous for the boss. I allso have a problem playing after a while the game just freeses and say resolving AI. Its a problem. I would like more diplomacy so there are other aspects to becom the biggest boss then just send guys attack and I have more guys so I win. Border disputes could get resolved by diplomacy wich was the whole reason for the real life commision. I have played 45+ hours and its a fun game a bit addictive when i listen to audiobooks. But they could work more on the roleplaying aspect and the commision and politics of the city and other cities. I dont mind the game as it is only the freesing of the game after some hours. They are working on a new version of the game so I hope they but more work on the rp of the game and managing your family. So I say dont buy this wait for the next one. This game has potential as being the most fun mafia rpg gmae out there.
Basically it's excel with a liitle graphics.
I enjoy this game, however, I can't play it. The UI and sound is broken. I started the game one day to play it and it was like this. I've attempted to reinstall it, I've verified the files when its installed, I've deleted all its files and reinstalled it; nothing has worked.
great game, but if you're into action this game is not for you
I like strategy games and the organized crime genre. This is just boring.
no tutorial worst game ever, gets boring real quick! dont buy for 16 euro, its not worth 5!
TLDR: it's a mafia game, but shown from the mafia accountant perspective, who doesn't know anything and doesn't understand how mafia works pros: - it works smoothly - it takes a lot of cojones to call this "grand strategy" cons: - horrible UI design - shallow gameplay - questionable logics behind some mechanics (f.e. you can't move associates to area where there are enemies - isn't that the best moment to move more people into area?) - gameplay is unbelievably boring - it looks more like first alpha version than commercial product (f.e. I realized some of my people were arrested when suddenly my profits dropped... I mean someone could have mentioned something like that in passing, but nope, there was no indication something has happened)
Need to rework the heat system and have some kind of diplomacy with other families and maybe redo the family tree this game could be great just needs to have meaning but the cops and rivals do kill it. Why can't i get a semi open world goodfellas type mob game with a good story smh.
This game falls flat on it's promise. It has a lot of elements that appealed to me, but almost all of them are flawed. + Rule through your lieutenants, assign them, feel like a boss - They are all very generic and has next to none personality + Build underground empire - There's no meaning for doing it, it's just "build to build more" + Many rackets - But they have a horrible interface + You can fight enemies and expand - Your wins allow you to assassinate enemies, but this is basically pointless, they just get replaced with new people So... it was interesting for a day or two. Then it got boring.
