I enjoy the game for the most part, its fun to set up rackets and invest more into them to increase their profits! It's interesting to play it a few times because each family has it's own perks so it is better to try each one to see which one works the best for you. But my only complaint is that you will literally spend 99% of your time fighting the other families over and over and over and OVER for just one neighborhood! Now the dev team said they are going to add a "vendetta" sort of feature that when you go to war with a family you can actually wipe them out by force or hopefully be diplomatic and negotiate your way as the top crime famiy! But like I said it is a fun game and as a mafia fan who has always wanted to run my own crime family it's definitley worth it!
Not a very fun game at all. Most just a bunch of guess work of what does what, what Rackect fall into what catagories, and what types of hood's give what sorts of bluff/de-bluffs. And the AI always seems to be rebuild and grow faster then you can, and is able to do things that you can't. Over all the game feels broken and unfun, and isn't worth the 20 bucks it cost.
Bugs. This game has bugs, some of which are GAMEBREAKING, so i would steer clear of this game unless the devs put in some major work clearing these away. Even after this is done, I wouldn't invest in this product. It is lacking a whole lot of interesting features and mechanics that would work so well in a game about the Mafia. The fact that it is turn based, as opposed to real time also rubs me the wrong way, and I am not even sure why, maybe just nitpicking, as there is no reason that turn based shouldn't work for this game. There is just the basic attack, defend or ceasefire when it comes to district wars. Ther is no diplomacy with the other families, no real diplomacy with the law. There are a lot of flaws, though that is not uncommon for PC games, and to be honest a lot of the flaws here are not terrible. The few game-breaking bugs don't seem like they are that difficult to fix, and last I saw on the forum, they had aknowledged one of the bugs to fix, so they may be fixed inside a week either way. TLDR: If this game is on sale for less than $12 or so, I would say it wouldnt the worst thing in the world to buy, but not for $20, there are dozens of better games for that price.
I don't care if this game takes forever to win! I am the boss of a crime family! What I say goes! DO NOT come into my territory! I AM "Scarface" Al Capone, Frank "The Enforcer" Nitti, Bumpy Johnson, Dutch Schultz, Lucky Luciano, Bugsy Siegel, Meyer Lansky, James Cagney & Humphrey Bogart in "The Roaring Twenties", Edward G Robinson in "Little Caesar", Vito Corleone, Sonny Corleone, Michael Corleone, the guy who cut off the horses head and somehow got it up the stairs and under the sheets without waking anyone or leaving a blood trail and everyone else rolled into one! You get to run rackets, make money, bribe, kill and do all the things that make life worthwhile! Every week (turn) I have a meeting with guys like Mickey “The Hedgehog”, “Cigs” Andelini, Lorenzo “Charms” Evola, Marco “The Ear”, Sebastian “Smalls” Amuso and talk business. IT'S AN RPG! Wear a pinstripe suit, fedora and shoulder holster while sitting at your computer! Pick Your Favorite Movie, Be That Guy and Never Rat on Your Friends, yes it's even better than Goodfellas and I love that freaking movie. Like I Said, I Don't Care If This Game Never Ends, Actually I Hope It Doesn't. Because when Murder Incorporated bumped off Dutch Schultz did his bootlegging operations and numbers rackets disappear? When they got Al Capone on tax evasion did the Chicago outfit leave town? When Lucky Luciano was deported did that criminal Empire crumble? When John Gotti lost the Teflon did the Gambino crime family cease to exist? NO! That's not how it works! Michael Corleone said “Today I settle all family business...” and in Godfather 2 there were still these other bosses with criminal organizations and a Godfather 3!?! The criminal empires continue on, you continue to fight, you continue to gain power, territory, political influence and you continue to conduct business. Can you kill off all of the other soldatos and caporegimes, use your political influence to shut down their operations, continue to gain more power and money until you control every section of the city? Just killing off the bosses won’t do it. What’s your idea? OK, let’s try dat, but right now I gotta go, da boys in da back are waitin...
If you're old enough to have played gangsters organised crime then you'll definitely enjoy this. It can seem a bit confusing at first and hard to get into but stick with it and you'll be hooked for hours. Some more features and more depth to the commission and maybe some customisation of gang names etc would be great but there's enough here to keep you busy once you get the hang of it. The new tutorial is a big help. Really get to know your gangsters, my capo has just turned informer and had my boss arrested, saved by well placed bribery. Highly recommended game
We’ve been trying to reach you about your car’s extended warranty
badly made, crashes, cant move around the map; no autosave. Has potential but fair go its not 1992 anymore.
The more niche and interesting your game, the more im willing to forgive jank. Yeah, a lot of this game is obfuscated and slightly confusing, but once you start to get it, it gets pretty interesting...and what other crime games are there?! Plus it's been updated a few times since launch which is a pretty good sign. If you realllly want to play a mafia sim, this is a pretty good attempt, and hopefully will just get better.
Game with potential but after a certain point you start asking yourself, why you´re still playing. Precious little to do to begin with and from turn 50 or so onwards, the only thing left to do is to watch your terretory for enemies and that´s pretty much it. The political favors are a complete waste and have no real purpose or influnce on the game. Easily one of the biggest design blunders I´ve seen in 30+ years of gaming. Another such example would be assasination. I killed the other dons each mulitple times throughout the game but it had no effect on the game and it is questionable at best that it had any effect on the game other then "oopsie, don is dead. Aww, fudge it. It´s not like he had much influence on our gang to begin with" Now, you´d think losing the head of the gang has significant impact on said gang, but nope. Business as usual. To call it grand strategy is a joke at best and a freakin insult at worst. No strategy whatsoever. Takes you like five turns to figure out what rackett works were and then you´re pretty much set for smooth sailing from there. If you´re used to actual strategy games (or aren´t a freaking moron, for that matter) the game will bore you. Fast. Add more content and invest in the strategy aspects. You may still be able to save it. At it´s current stage it´s a 5 buck bargain bin game and nowhere near the asking price of 17 bucks. And even that is generously put and aplies only, if you REALLY don´t know any other way to blow a 5er.
Too simple and easy to master. Great starting point (what mob boss game isn't a great idea though) but this just doesn't have anywhere near the depth to play through more than a couple of times, after a couple of hours you just repeatedly hit other members on your turf, ad-infinitum. Maybe wait for a few more updates.
