A sweet jRPG-style game about cats, brutal massacres, cuteness, racism and social issues, friendship, sinister thoughts, hilarity and Nazi furniture. It’s an epic attempt to blow your mind with adult themes hidden behind bright cartoon graphics.

About
Thrilling like a payday, a story of cats in funny costumes that do RPGish things. It is full of many unexpected and incredible twists, the tragedies of an individual lured into the trap of an adventourist internship, and friendly pastry, which is very sensitive to nihilism.
The game also contains many thrilling conversations, walking around the map with some logical puzzles sprinkled in here and there – but don’t worry, even a liberal arts student should be able to solve them – raising pastry, and deliberations about important moral and existential issues, the majority of which will affect the ending you get. The ending will sum up the fates of the most important characters, in-game achievements, your proficiency in fighting the ultimate bad guy, your finesse in raising pastry and the degree of faith in friendship. This results in dozens of possible ending combinations.
After completing the game, you can try NewGame+ to unlock additional, normally unavailable skills for the main character.

Nyanya is an enormous cat world that can take up to 20 hours to fully explore. The main plotline itself is good for more than 8 hours of fun, but the game also includes many side quests found on numerous maps, hundreds of interactions with NPCs and over a thousand descriptions of nearly everything. You can also find dozens of exciting items such as the legendary Excalipurr and the frightening Berserker Catnip.
The role of the majority of animals is played by various kinds of rolls, which, together with cats, pidgins, and sneks, constitute the entirety of Nyanya’s fauna. Kibble is found in mines and on can triis, almost all buildings are boxes (because cardboard boxes are cats’ natural habitat) and cleaning fur is a matter of importance to the state. The sense and logic of this world are therefore highly debatable... But don’t worry about its coherence. We made sure that it is top-notch.
All this mess is watched over by cat gods, such as the mysterious Great Bowl of Goodness –
a giant stone leg, whose calf disappears in the clouds, Meowrida the Brave – goddess of shooting, and Overcat – the creator of everything that's feline.
The game is produced in a retro jRPG style.
The protagonist of the game is Catair, a meowsassin, who is as optimistic and sweet as sandpaper. When she sets out on her amazing journey, she has the chance to discover friendship, love, and revenge and to travel through many wonderful lands that she does not want to visit... And yet, she has no choice.
She will join the party led by the veteran of the war in Furajevo – Francat the clericat. Their adventourist paths will cross with Purrgli, a yes-cat and an outstanding purrior, Catniss –
a fighter for friendship and even more friendship, as well as meowmage Meowdledore, whose parents bought him gifts instead of giving him some attention.

The game features tons of epic turn-based jRPG fights, where you will have an opportunity to use dozens of such unique cat techniques as Boot to the Head, Slipper Comet or a Hairball of Darkness. The characters represent traditional classes such as meowsassin, meowmage and purrior. With their powers combined, they are able to face adversities such as student internships and unpaid overtime.
Among the dozens of opponents, you will find monstrosities such as orcats, aggressive cat fetuses enchanted in slime, or Purrevar, Prince of the Underpurr.
What is more, The Chronicles of Nyanya is probably the only game in which you can charge Nazi furniture on your rollicorn or fight their mysterious Wundermöbelwaffe.
The game is filled with familiar-sounding places and names. If you love comic books, memes or just pop culture in general, you will feel right at home in Nyanya.
You will meet Cateris, talk with Granny Weathercat, Furry Catter and Nyoda and listen to the moving stories of Catmerian guards, who always wanted to be adventourists like you, but they took an arrow to their knees. In other games, references are Easter eggs, in Nyanya they are the main course.

The game was created by hamstercube studio, made up of Ilona, author of chatolandia and Adrian. The graphics were created mainly by Revv, known from her Tak bardzo źle blog; Ilona also had something to do with it. The moving music, which tickles your aesthetic sense was composed by Marcin Maślanka, an experienced composer of soundtracks for games and films.

"The Chronicles of Nyanya" is what looks like an RPG Maker asset flip, but it's slapped together badly with node-webkit/NW.js instead, equally bad, but the "developer" had to do more work to come up with the same crap result. This lame JRPG is a furry friendly ripoff of the Chronicles of Narnia (copyright 1950, the C.S. Lewis Estate). Unfortunately there's enough of an attempt at humour here that the "developer" will likely evade a lawsuit under satire protection. This is otherwise indistinguishable from an RPG Maker asset flip with the same outdated gameplay, crappy engine, crappy writing and (likely) asset flipped tilesets and so on (although there are some badly made bespoke assets). From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the poor choice of using node-webkit/NW.js instead of a serious game engine. This is a very poor quality toolset for gaming, sometimes used by amateur developers as it doesn't require advanced game development skills, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities because it's primary function for games is to make simple HTML/browser/simple mobile apps rather than full fledged PC games (and given we are here for PC games, you can see why this is a problem). Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. "The Chronicles of Nyanya" didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for telling one NPC about a cake, trivial to get, but less than 34 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the game. "The Chronicles of Nyanya" has the comically over-optimistic price of $20 USD, for which you could easily get any number of recent AAA games. The developer seriously thinks this game is better than the entire Mass Effect Trilogy and has priced the game higher. What a joke. This is also competing with over 9,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.
I refunded this game not because it's horrible, but mostly because it's not my cup of tea. Anyway, here's my short though of this game, The good: + Lots of cats + Cute artstyle + Gameplay mechanics seems great + Decent amount of choice The bad: - The ugly: * Lots of text/reading, i doubt i can bear it for 8 - 20 hours (according to another review) * Blend of casual and serious topic feels awkward to me * The humor/comedy is mixed bag I doubt you'll like this game if you're not fan of RPGMaker and reading wall of text. But if you do, check other reviews before deciding to buy this game.
It's an all-to-basic RPGMaker game where its attempts at humor are horrid and mind-numbing. That humor seems to be the only unique thing it tried to create. When the only selling point is terrible it makes this game an easy skip.
najlepsza gra w jaką grałem i miałtanek to parówa
Lekka, zabawna i wciągająca. I ma też koty. Wspominałem o kotach?
Buł Buł! Buł Buł! Buł Buł! Buł Buł!
Enough with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cats
carino, più o meno.
A meowtastic game that got way too little attention. Seriously, an underrated gem!
Imagine a situation in which worlds of Harry Potter, Lord of The Rings, Star Wars, Assassin's Creed, The Witcher, Naruto, Disney and many other pop cultures clashed into one. Then replace everything in the said fused world with cats! Now stop fantasizing and go play this game because it's exactly what you have just been imagining!
Brace yourself for:

KITTIES!
Adorable rolls! (If anybody's questioning that, cats have pastry as their pets. Ever heard of a Rollicorn? Because this is the only game where growing one is possible!)
More KITTIES!
Friendship (unless you're emo. Nothing removes emo.)
Meowphetamine
War (but with KITTIES!)
Nazi furniture (yep, you read it right)
Dialogues that are a chef's kiss
KITTIES, KITTIES, KITTIES!
Memes
A hearty dose of laughter (if it hasn't been obvious up to this point)
Making own choices in dialogues and actions which actually have an influence on how things will turn out in the end. Given how many factors affect your playthrough, there are plenty of ways to complete the story. At the end of the day, replayability is what all players love!
Did I mention KITTIES?
Nevertheless, the unworldly humour must be what sparkles the brightest. It's essentially icing on the cake. I haven't been rolling up laughing so hard in any other game for a long time. It's evident at first glance that this is a Polish sense of humour, especially visible in exaggerated twisting and toying with words every step of the way. As a Pole myself, I find the gags hit the spot. But regardless if you are my fellow countryman or not, laughter will not be a stranger to you. The whole game lives mostly on jokes and winks at the player and, moreover, in this abnormal cat dimension, they are everyday language. To the same extent as the jokes, the game hurls titbits at the player. Easter eggs here aren't, well, easter eggs but the second foundation Nyanya has been built on. From the title itself to the very end, it is an utter mine of kibble and puns. You don't have to look far to meet such catebrities as Furry Catter, Master Nyoda or Dan de Lion, yield legendary weapons like Meownir or visit such places as Furajevo or Meowdur's Gate. Cats also live in cardboard boxes, are addicted to knocking flower pots in a graceful manner and have their own religion of several cat deities. It's pretty much impossible to count all the references appearing there. One thing I have my slice of criticism about – crafting. It's considerably limited, with few recipes that are all unlocked throughout the main story anyway. You can literally forge only one weapon and one armour. And while this is forgivable by taking into consideration the short length of the game, the same cannot be said about the areas which could be more abundant in ingredients for crafting items useful in battles e.g. arrows. Though I was trying to be frugal, I ran out of them after some time and had no way to make more. And what is an archer without their arrows, am I right? The Chronicles of Nyanya is the title made with whole heart and soul. Gags and puns are meowsterpieces to die for, and the multitude of possible outcomes of your actions is overwhelming for such a seemingly small indie game. I'm going to revisit it sometime in the future to take a different path and purrhaps get all the remaining achievements. Maybe I will be more of a devil kitty next try? That being said, I advise you to go on your own adventour too, in this feline-dominated world of absurdity and epicness. For a cat lover, this is already a must!
