Reviews
I think the word that can best sum up my experience is disappointment. For someone totally unfamiliar with the Dead by Daylight universe, it was confusing, although most stuff was easy to understand, in the end a lot of things were left unexplained, which made the ending and the last 15–20% of the game a total mess for me. After the mediocre implementation of the antagonist in The Devil in Me, I never thought I would see one even worse. Still, the story felt, up to a point, really interesting, and I was genuinely looking forward to finding out more, but it failed to deliver in the end. The Casting of Frank Stone has by far the best graphics in a Supermassive game, and the gameplay is alright, and overall it is an okay-ish experience, especially in co-op with a friend, although being locked into playing a group of characters is plain dumb, and if judged from all points of view, this game is only slightly above mediocre.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 1: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

While having some endearing moments and references, it fully lacks depth and Frank Stone as a main character is really uninspiring. I cant think of a game I played more recently that has such a dull antagonist and weird sci fi stuff that isnt fully explained or really makes sense. Some plot points are explored too much and others are not explored enough. That leaves this game feeling like its underbaked and honestly felt like a waste of time, when I could have seen all the cool stuff in a quick youtube video. Sucks as it probably means we arent gonna see more of some of the good things from this games, along with it being seemingly unlikely that Behaviour Interactive actually attempts something interesting or gives their ip to other studios for different styles of games ever again. Major dissapointment.
The reviews on this game are a bit harsh. Yes, the game is very predictible. Yes, the story starts off good but hits a low point quite early in. Yes, the writing is not the best. But is it enjoyable? Also yes. The game is not the perfect story game, it focuses on two narratives, past and present. The present is in my opinion what is draging the story down. Most of it is a boring walking sim where you dont feel like youre getting anywhere untill much later into the story. The past on the other hand is the pinnacle of this game. The teens attempt to make a horror movie is what makes this game good, and worth playing. It is interesting, both its story, and its characters. I do also believe that the killer in this game, "the champion" A.K.A Frank Stone is also a great concept for a killer in Dead by Daylight, and i think Behaviour believe so too, or at the very least did. I hope to heaven and above that we one day get to see Frank Stone, not as a skin for Trapper, but as its own killer, wielding some of its powers we got to see in this game. If you are looking for a perfect game, play Alan Wake, dont waste your time. But if you are looking for a moderately entertaining story game taking place in the Dead by Daylight universe, I'd say give this one a go. Long review short, buy this game on sale.
I paid 50€ for this game at release only to play it twice and never again. Truly an uninteresting game only deepening my belief that Supermassive Games fell off HARD.
Not nearly as good as the quarry or until dawn. Has very lacklsuter action and story. It felt like it was building tension for nearly 7 hours
Great game. All the bad reviews are from whiny dead by daylight players. The story really is not that hard to follow. Good replay-ability.
