About

14th-century Europe. Bloody conflicts sweep the lands, and the Black Death comes for the survivors. It's a moment of weakness - and that's all they needed. Vampires seize their opportunity to walk out of the shadows and claim what they've been denied for centuries: freedom, and the power that comes with it. Other creatures of the night follow their lead. Legends turn into reality, and history as we know it will never be the same.
You play as Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker, forever treading the line between the world of day and the realm of night. Fight for your humanity or embrace the cursed powers to save your family. Whatever your choice, the question stands: is your soul worth the lives of those you love?

Experience and shape the plot the way you want. Embark on the quest to save your family, or swear revenge on your sire and destroy everyone standing in your way. Discover ancient secrets lurking in the valley. Rush in head first or risk taking time to prepare. Go alone or search for friends and forge unlikely alliances.

Experience two different gameplay loops, offering distinct abilities to choose from, mysteries to uncover, and varying ways to achieve your goals. Experiment with different approaches and discover how the world reacts to your actions.

Every action - and inaction - shapes the world around you. Your family’s days are numbered, and every time you take on a quest, time moves forward, compelling you closer to the end. Choose carefully whom to help and whom to leave behind. You will not have time for everyone. The world waits for no one. And neither does the villain.

Defy gravity, become a brutal force of nature, and use your supernatural skills as a vampire. Or raise your sword, and employ powerful magic to take on opponents as a human. Experiment and adapt as your form changes during the day and night; each has its strengths and weaknesses.

Venture through the hand-crafted open world and discover all it has to offer. Roam through the lush forests, the vast plains, the treacherous swamps, the steep mountaintops, and the medieval settlements. Explore forgotten ruins, find remnants of an ancient civilization, and uncover truths that should probably remain hidden.

Experience the beginning of a brand-new saga built with love for the role-playing genre. Immerse yourself in a visually stunning world powered by the next-gen Unreal Engine 5.

The camera sucks, why when i lock onto a target, it doesnt lock on to the one closest to me? then i move my rs to change targets, and it doesnt change. Why cant i run past enemies either? The camera points down and I cant even move bro. WTF are yall doing with the camera
I have a very conflicted feelings about this game. I hesitated a lot deciding should I recommend it or not and unfortunately, I won’t recommend. The game’s price is way over the top for what it actually provides. Yes, the story and companions quests are well-written and interesting, but the game world as a whole - is not. Map activities are mostly super repetitive and unrewarding due to the random loot system. Eventually you’ll learn which ones have a skill point reward and do just them. Combat system is nice, I guess, but the combat itself is very repetitive - the same enemies, same attack patterns, you can’t really have lot of fun with builds since skill points are very limited and some good options are behind the ton of +5% to something trash skills. The Game has this really weird mid game period around level 20, when enemies feel like health sponges, since you don’t have enough skill points for you build yet and not in the noob location already. All and all game is really worth it if bought with like 30% discount, but with the current price I wouldn’t buy.
It has heart but poorly optimized note: without rushing, the prologue took me 3.6 hours. So if you're not sure about this one you'll be past your 2 hour return just for the prologue alone Pros - The story and characters are extremely compelling and well written. The game makes you care about the world, characters and your characters family almost immediately. - The combat is so much better than The Witcher 3 (worst part of that game imo). The combat has weight and consequence. - Timing and direction matters for attacks, blocks, parrying, and counter attacks. This makes the sword play a lot of fun and challenging. I can't speak for controller but on PC this part of the controls are well designed and easy to use - Quest design is also leagues better than The Witcher 3. Its not a bunch of fetch quests to find someone to ask someone about Ciri to ask another person about Ciri and never accomplish much of anything. These quests build either a relationship with the characters involved or give you insight into that character(s). The quests really bring the world to life and the characters in the world. - The villain is phenomenal so far and the pacing of the prologue. The cutscenes are very well done (besides 30 fps) - In cutscenes the motion capture for faces is very good, the expressions and emotions come across very well Cons - Generic Unreal 5 Engine settings menu with little to no effort put in - Poorly optimized game, the game hitches and stutters every few seconds to minutes depending on if you're traversing an area or cutscene transition - No HDR support in 2026 - No ultrawide support - No ray tracing features or settings - generic art style and assets Undecide - I haven't decided about the time limit mechanic yet. Its clearly marked and explained very well. I just don't know how much stress it may cause or influence my play style yet. - Still need time to decide on the skill tree - Still need time to form an option on inventory and crafting Overall I'm happy with it and won't be returning the game. I think with patches it will only get better. Its easily to tell a lot of heart went into this game. Unfortunately not a lot of technical skill or knowledge and experience with unreal engine 5 it seems. But the pros heavily outweigh the cons. I will update after patches and more play time but its an easy buy for me.
Runs like complete ♥♥♥♥. I meet the minimum PC specs and I'm just shy of the recommended specs, but I can barely hit 30fps on low graphics, ultra performance scaling and frame gen. I'm genuinely stunned because it ran fine in the prologue but as soon as the world opens up it struggles to hit even 20fps. I've requested a refund but I'd buy it again if it had the mother of all performance patches
This game is fricken awesome. I havnt had any issues with it and so far the story line is well written.
It's good. It's as if KCD and The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt had a baby! Good story too. I hope it's this good all the way through to the end. Would definitely recommend.
