Lately steam users have been at war with a Australian feminist group Collective shout, apparently free choice seems to bother them. So, they did what any other group that seeks to censor people do, they go to the people with money... Visa, Mastercard and paypal.. Thanks to the efforts of Collective Shout, they’ve managed to get numerous games removed from steam... BOOO for free speech. Anyway, what does that have to do with The Assistant, well absolutely nothing because their reach has only affected the truly taboo and dredges of steams bowels... Since they haven’t gotten to every game yet, I’m left with The Assistant, a choice driven adult visual novel where the MC is a (I think down on his luck guy???) looking for employment. After what must have been a daunting task of applying and being denied for thousands of jobs, he sees an ad for the position of an assistant for a wealthy family. (So, like a nanny but male right, well no, the family has kids but they are over 18 and both females) Upon meeting up with the madam of the house (a really super-hot, mid to late 30’s looking woman, she introduces the “assistant” to her two daughters, and cuck… err working stiff husband. From this point on, I’m fairly certain you can figure out what happens, one thing leads to another and the MC is parking his big mac truck in every one’s little garage. Daughters, mothers, best friends, best friends’ daughter, the chick at the ice cream parlor, Ronald McDonald (Ok not Ronald McDonald) maybe even a nun... You didn’t think the game wouldn’t have a female nun letting our hero go ham, did you? Gameplay – Fairly normal visual novel situation, press a button to progress the story, pound away with the other hand. The storyline is a bit more involved then other adult visual novels, and it tries to be a bit more entertaining then just, long duck swanz smashes everyone. Anyway, the game has some choices, and achievements and well you know. Pro’s Decent storyline (I swear) 7 out of 10 on the fap o meter Fairly easy achievements +1 to the game count Sounds were alright Con’s Broken into multiple games - frowny face A nun – frowny face Recommendation - On the surface recommending The Assistant season 1 should be an easy choice, it has easy achievements, it has a decent enough storyline, and the females are really easy on the eyes. Although, something about them including a nun kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Like when you get drunk at the club, take a girl home and right as you’re getting into things, you notice she has braces, when she scraps Peewee Herman.. Painful my dude, Painful. Anyway, the blasphemy aside I’d recommend the game, and while I haven’t gotten around to playing the second game, if it’s more of the same I’ll certainly be playing it soon as I can’t not know how the story ends. With +1 to the game count, +1 to the completed game count, and the general ease with which you can unlock 100%, this is a must have for all achievement hunters. If you’re just in it for the story you wont be disappointed. If you just want to punch the clown for a bit, worse games have existed for that. Either way buy the game, enjoy it, and *tosses a quarter* buy yourself a spritzer
a good Visual Novel. I recommend it. lots of answer options. some girls wearing supercool clothes. some sex scenes. everything is uncensored, what do you want more. graphic is good. the price of this short game is in offer for -60% alright.
The Assistant - Season 1 sigue precisamente esa filosofía. Con 19 personajes femeninos principales, The Assistant dedica tiempo a desarrollar diferentes personalidades, conflictos y motivaciones. If a certain famous deodorant advertisement was turned into a game, this would be it. The Asssistant (Season 1) is an adult visual novel developed by BackHole Games, and I can't for the life of me understand what's wrong with the characters in this (I know, that was just a rhetorical question). To understand what I'm talking about, I'll explain in the following paragraphs. To start this review, I'll start talking about graphical fidelity, or lack thereof. Environments are decently detailed, but the images are so low resolution than textures look blurred. Animations are also decent, but clunky and stiff in several instances. The UI is barebones, barely deviating from the stock Ren'Py UI layout, but I guess that makes the game ligh, even on low-end systems. Character design is OK, suffering from the same low res assets, and the music doesn't match the context, the setting and the tone in several instances. How does a track more fitting for suspense fit into a sex scene? It doesn't. Lastly, it's very apparent that the devs of this game aren't native English speakers, because the dialogue and narration read strange at places, and there is an instance where the text is in Spanish, despite having selected English as the language for the game (I'm not a native English speaker, and I can confidently say that my written English is better). The gameplay is standard affair for visual novels. That being said, there are some metrics that doesn't seem to have an effect on the story. It seems like the "Trust" and "Lust" metrics only serves to track your progress with a certain character, and don't have any influence in future choices or in character payoffs. The only metrics that affect the story are the "Good" and "Bad" metrics, which is, at its core, a morality system. But, before getting excited, this is not like the morality system you'd find in Mass Effect, for example, not by a long shot, because what constitutes good or bad is not dependant of the overall consequences of your choices, but on whether it's good or bad for a specific character. For example, refusing to do something that you're not supposed to do from a moral standpoint will still count as a "good" choice if it serves the interests of the character involved, even when said interests are considered immoral within the context of the story. That's not how a good guy/bad guy system should work. This damages immersion and creates a cognitive dissonance in the reader, because it gives the impression that you're doing the right thing, when it really doesn't. Conversely, there are choices that can make characters go towards a dark path, and that doesn't even affect the morality system, when it absolutely should. Finally, there is an instance where you can alter the fate of a character if you have enough "good" or "bad" score, but the requirements are kind of low. And the writing? Well, surprisingly, I don't have much problems with the plot. It's very simple, but it's decently written. The real issue are the characters. For starters, the characterization is almost nonexistent. This means characters don't have a defining feature and their dialogue is pretty much interchangeable between them, which makes them rather flat and uninspiring. Effective characterization means that the characters should speak and act in a easily identifiable way, so the reader can tell them apart by what they say and do, which doesn't happen in this game (I'm replaying Shining Song Starnova, and it crushes this game at characterization and overall character writing). Character development is just as uninspired as the characterization. There is no depth about them, which makes them uninteresting and forgettable, and don't undergo any kind of meaningful journey, they don't face fears, or overcome their own flaws. Dialogue is stiff and mechanical, like the people talking weren't humans at all. And the last thing I'll say about this story is... why in the holiest of hells all female characters are so horny when the main character is around? It's like the MC is spewing bucketloads of pheromones that makes all female characters to blindly want to have sex with him. Even when the writers try to set up some conflict, it's immediately resolved by how horny are for the main character. This is lazy writing in its most classic form, and I'm utterly disappointed the writers choose to forgo any character depth with cheap fanservice. In conclusion, if you want a good story here, you won't find it. What you will find instead is a cheap attempt at a narrative, damaged by a bunch of porn fantasies which don't fit mechanically with the story at all. But, since I already have Season 2 in my library, I'll continue reading, just for the hell of it, but I don't expect things to improve. I'd be very surprised if it did. You should look elsewhere if you want a good experience. But, if you're a porn maniac and don't care about writing, I guess you could give it a chance, but, remember, there are better stories with sexual content on the internet you can watch for free.
The renders are soft, blurry and dated for a 2023 release. Likewise, the character models are just average, with only a few standing out as pretty. Curiously, everyone insists that the MC is "handsome," even though he looks like someone who face-planted onto asphalt. However, I do like the naughty kinks, and there’s plenty of them here.
good start to the game. gets going quickly. artwork/modeling is top tier. "camera angles" are quite good. story is not too complex to follow, but still intriguing. Lots of potential pairings/outcomes so far. 5/5 stars
Game has been nicely designed with some nice ladies and a story where you can either provide them with the love treatment, corrupt treatment or make them long for you. The story itself is not very in-depth, however it compensates that with the actual gameplay though.
To the point, this isn't a good game. The poor characters and bad translations really take away from whatever the author was trying to do. Add in ♥♥♥♥♥♥ animation, an unnecessary good/bad system, as well as the MC calling every woman he meets a slut, and it's really hard to get through this one. This really does feel like someone's first draft and they didn't want to use an editor or anyone to do localizations.
Pretty damn good. Lots of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and kinky ♥♥♥♥. Oh, and a good story too ;)
It's definitely drawn out and tedious with the story. The way it's translated makes them sound like mindless robots, not people. Foreign Devs really do need to put some effort into finding quality people who actually know English as a first language to translate for them. The way it is now just sucks. Still frame artistry is good, body wise. But they definitely struggle with faces. Another AVN with pretty horses (meaning horse face women). And the lipsticks are too thick, glossy and puffy. No real women have lips like those. When getting down to the movement scenes, it gets ugly. You can obviously see the disconnect in the interactions. Kind of like a bad photoshop laid out over another. Things just don't match up. And their parts look fake and plastic. Not anything like real ones. Did they model a cheap sex doll? Cause it definitely looks like they've never seen anything real. I will have to say that I like the modesty they put into the characters. No oversized boobs or body figures. Looks more like regular women instead of over-exaggerated emphasis of the female bodies. Seems that they did go in and fix the over-exaggerated lipstick though. Glad to see that at least. The mobster is definitely someone to hate. First up, cops did not follow through with and assault and battery case of a priest in a church. And then the cops didn't do what they should have anyway when they rolled up on a stopped car in the middle of the road. Real life, they wouldn't have hesitated to make them all submit to a search. Stopping in the middle of the road? Big sign that there was something going down. Especially when seeing 2 guys that looked like well dressed thugs facing off with with a regular looking citizen. Devs sure f'd that scenario up. But also the 12year age difference crush? If it weren't the daughter of a good friend, maybe. But then, there's the other barely legals. Still... Just not something I want to continue with now.
