Tales of Fablecraft is a virtual tabletop RPG. It’s easy for GMs and players to learn, whether you've slain many dragons or are completely new to the genre. Fablecraft features its own system, gorgeous human-made art, pre-built campaigns that eliminate prep, and a growing list of homebrew tools.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.

Nice, simple, easy to use. Well conceived and well executed. SO MUCH SIMPLER than any other VTT I've ever seen. No, it can't do D&D... but we went from installing for 4 players to instantly RPG gaming in less than an hour across Steam box and PC Players. Can't wait to see how well it works over Android and iOS. The ability to roll-your-own stories if you can use their built-in skill-based mechanics makes it an instant win! If you're a role-player and not a rule-player, you'll get this.
Fablecraft is really good - it sits at the hybrid crossroads of traditional tabletop RPGs (think D&D) with an integrated VTT. It has good stories/modules, great (animated) imagery and all of the trappings that you need to play an RPG online (video and audio chat). The UI and overall aesthetic is beautiful, functional and straightforward and new GMs can use the included prompts and scripts as much or as little as they want. It works on Steam as well as your iOS tablet. It does "theatre of the mind" gameplay but also has some great animations and points trackers for battlemaps. Combat is pretty cool, actually. It uses its own dice mechanic based on d6s and keeps track of everything automatically. The GM just needs to focus on the storyline - and can keep the story "on the rails" if they want or embellish with the included scenes/maps, sounds and music beds. Or, upload your own stuff (which I haven't done yet but seems to work). The paywall hits when you want to buy more modules/adventures after the first included free one. That's fair. But with the ability to drop in your own content, you could use the service (for now) without those expenses. But having bought most of the modules, I can vouch that they're good. But don't think Curse of Straud storylength or Pathfinder crunch complexity - think simple roleplay with good eye candy that works with one app on your tablet. Fablecraft is a hybrid that does what it strives to do well. If you are trying to get someone into TTRPGs or are looking for a LIGHT "one-download" that takes the aspects of D&D Beyond (with character sheets, adventures and battlemaps), Discord (with audio/video chat) and a simple(r) VTT like DDB, Roll20, Owlbear Rodeo or Alchemy RPG, than this is it. I'm a fan. For simple RPG gameplay loops - it's everything in one (virtual) box.

A perfect example of a game that has the end goal of for-profit. Even if a developer says they made it with passion, money's at the center whether they argue or not. The game is free to download, but the free version (homebrewed campaigns) leaves something to desire. You basically have to purchase a pre-built campaign to even try out the ToFC TTRPG system, as there's not enough GM management and editing capabilities to feel useful. If you manage to have a multi-session homebrew campaign, I applaud you. WIth five custom characters at a time maximum, gming feels like you're dealing with a system that has a goldfish brain. Five character are used up in a single session. What happens if the party returns to a character created several sessions and over 20 characters ago? Do you remember everything about them? If you're looking for a homebrew campaign TTRPG-like video game system, play Divinity Original Sin II instead. You trade the graphical polish of ToFC for a game with: - As many custom characters and enemies as your computer can handle (since they're saved on your COMPUTER not the live-service slop this is) - Any number of props and items placed on detailed 3D maps - Built in shops where the DM sets the price and players can automatically buy/sell without DM interaction (allowing them to do more important things) - Free roam player exploration - Choice dialogues - Surprisingly large modding community with amazing custom maps, items, classes, cosmetics - ONE microtransaction (Sir Lora my beloved) Honestly, I had more fun playing the ToFC singleplayer arena mode than I did with the multiplayer campaign, and if they refined it into a more in-depth version, I could see myself paying for this hypothetical game.
great fun with friends!
Tales of Fablecraft, Mythas'ın canlı, umutlu dünyasında geçen, işbirlikçi bir sanal masaüstü RPG'sidir.
Currently playing through most of the campaigns with a group of my friends and so far this game has given us so many laughs over the duration of 2 campaigns (starting star seeker and halloween one's) that were always excited every week to play some more. I have been deciding to stream from ep 2 on to present and talking to my friends thinking about doing more homebrew things which is something that would be nice is having a homebrew spellbook/item index we can make and put into the game our-self in the future. Very easy to get into even with no dnd or TTRPG background with the starting guide, I understand having the pieces behind the dlcs for more homebrew ideas to take fold where i think some scenes should be with the base edition like the fortune teller. The ui can be a little tricky and duno if it's devs to prevent trolling the players but DM's is unable to remove items from players inventory say if given a wrong item and the player won't delete it could be a bother. I think something nice could be custom races as well for players to add in say arcane constructs to work with magic like androids with magitech to change things up, or hybrid races from parents of different backgrounds. all in all kind of surprised it's still early access with it even stating 6 months after it's been almost 2 years and the roadmap isn't updated for the things that has been accomplished in 2025 so some things do confuse me dev to community communication which puts me a little unease with seeing how much will change in the true launch when it does come out. However i do recommend any new TTRPG players to try this out and learn to role play as a character before diving into the scary world of dnd.
