Taivas

Lucky me gets to write the first review of Taivas, and it's a dubious honour. Taivas is an abandoned Early Access 2D retro pixel platformer/asset flip. It was created by flipping assets and a 2D platformer template from the godawful IFAction game construction kit. No professional effort was made in terms of game development, copying a template/using a game construction kit requires no talent, and unsurprisingly produces products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. While one might be considered to give the developer some benefit of doubt, we must look at the facts surrounding this game if we want to think about buying it. The game was abandoned in December 2020 with a final, incomplete patch, and remains in Early Access with no sign or indication that it will ever be completed. No refunds have been given, for all intents and purposes, the developer took the money and ran. To double down on this somewhat unethical position, the developer sold the game as a complete product in DailyIndieGame bundles, despite knowing full well that it isn't finished. Due to the construction kit/retro pixel low quality, and the probability that this will never be finished, I cannot recommend it.

infelizmente o jogo está bugado, no boss de pedra você tira 1 de vida e ele tira 1k que é basicamente hitkill e não tem como esquivar do ataque que é teleguiado, uma pena pois eu tava curtindo o game

I’m not even going to waste any time with the usual icebreakers, or goof-ballery. Run… YOU HEARD ME, RUN! Run fast, run hard, run as if the devil himself was chasing you (because in a weird way, he kinda is). I don’t think I’ve ever written a review for an indie game that wasn’t glowing, because I figure most barely make any money as it is, so why stop someone from buying their game even if it’s not that good. But THIS? I don’t even know what to say, it’s so broken that I think my spirit left my body, never to return again. The controls are ridiculous, and I have no idea what the deal is with the character (it looks like they copied the pixel art of his hair, and pasted it about a foot from his butt… why? Is he supposed to be a puffy tailed squirrel boy or something? I don’t even wanna waste any more of my or your time, I’m convinced that this game is evil, and even only spending $1.00 on it, I feel like I need to go take a r@p€ shower.
