Reviews
Incredibly atmospheric, great dialogue, great intrigue, very noir, very demure. Very short too, definitely worth a play
Knowing where the full game goes in its last act, I can't recommend it. Such a waste of potential with that plot.

absolute cinema 10/10.1
Tails Noir: Prologue is visually stunning, I won’t deny that. The art direction is immediately striking — moody pixel art brought to life with lighting and animation that feels cinematic. But once you move past the surface, there isn’t much holding it all together. This is a game that desperately wants to set a noir tone, but it leans too hard on atmosphere and not enough on meaningful interaction. The prologue plays more like a walking simulator than a detective story. You walk, you click, you talk — and then it ends. There are no real choices, no puzzles to solve, and very little gameplay depth. As a demo, it doesn’t offer a satisfying slice of what’s to come — just vague hints. The writing tries to be subtle and clever but ends up feeling flat. Conversations drag, and the worldbuilding feels more like suggestion than substance. There’s clearly an attempt to hint at social issues, power dynamics, and class structures, but it’s handled in a way that feels surface-level and overly ambiguous rather than compelling. The pacing is also a problem. For a short prologue, it still feels slow. You spend too much time walking across pretty but empty screens, and not enough actually doing anything. It teases a bigger story but doesn't make a strong enough case to keep you invested. Yes, it’s a free prologue — and yes, the presentation is impressive. But style can only carry you so far. If you're looking for an interactive, engaging mystery or a taste of smart, branching storytelling, this prologue may leave you feeling underwhelmed. Beautiful, but hollow.
An engaging narrative-driven experience with a strong atmosphere and a distinct style. The dialogue stands out, often adding a touch of humor that keeps things interesting. The investigation elements are enjoyable and fit well with the tone, making it a solid and memorable introduction.
