Schau dich an, Hacker: eine erbärmliche Kreatur aus Fleisch und Knochen, keucht und schwitzt, während du durch meine Korridore rennst. Wie kannst du eine perfekte, unsterbliche Maschine herausfordern?

shodan is my fave villain
This game was a bit weird and uncomfortable for me to play at first. Modern games tend to have a lot more "convenience" features which make them simple to pick up and play, but this game coming out in the 90's doesn't have many of those. However, within an hour or two of play, it's pretty easy to adjust and find the "flow" of gameplay, and this game is quite an experience when you do. You're stuck on a spaceship infested with parasitic worms that are rapidly evolving, and it's up to you to fix it. Fortunately, you have cybernetic enhancements and the ship's worth of supplies to do so. The general gameplay sees you progress through the decks of the ship in a semi-open world environment, fighting enemies and looting everything you encounter to stay alive. The game does a great job at making the ship feel dangerous and alive; there are lots of nooks and crannies to explore, many of which hide valuable supplies behind environmental hazards. It also does a great job on the horror aspect, the logs you find around the ship and the sound design paint a truly unnerving picture of the enemies you face. Overall, it's a quick game at around 12-15 hours and definitely worth playing through, although I wouldn't take the plot very seriously. Just enjoy the experience itself!
