SYS//PURGE_ is a retro-styled first-person shooter that combines the intensity of classic arena-based action with the unpredictability of roguelite progression. Developed and published by tomo2515x, the game places players in the role of a military reconnaissance machine that unexpectedly breaks free from the control of an oppressive artificial intelligence known as the Overseer. This simple but effective setup creates a clear objective: descend through hostile environments, eliminate automated threats, and challenge the system that once dictated every action. Rather than presenting a story-heavy experience, the game uses its science-fiction premise as a framework for constant combat and exploration. The gameplay is built around speed and aggression. Players are encouraged to remain in motion while navigating procedurally generated levels filled with hostile enemies and valuable resources. The design philosophy clearly draws inspiration from old-school shooters where movement, reaction time, and situational awareness are more important than hiding behind cover. Every room presents new dangers, and surviving often depends on maintaining momentum while carefully managing health, ammunition, and positioning. This creates a satisfying rhythm that rewards skillful play without becoming overly complicated. What separates SYS//PURGE_ from a purely retro shooter is its roguelite structure. Each run offers different opportunities through randomized layouts, item placements, and upgrade combinations. As players progress, they collect credits that can be spent on equipment, enhancements, and special items found throughout the facility. These upgrades can significantly alter the flow of a run, encouraging experimentation with different builds and strategies. Some attempts may focus on maximizing offensive power, while others emphasize survivability or resource efficiency. The variety generated by these systems helps keep repeated playthroughs engaging and gives the game a strong replay factor. The combat itself is one of the game's most appealing features. Weapons feel responsive, enemy encounters are fast-paced, and the overall flow encourages players to stay active rather than cautious. Every battle becomes a balance between offensive pressure and defensive awareness. The shooting mechanics are straightforward but satisfying, allowing the action to remain accessible while still rewarding mastery. Fans of classic shooters will appreciate how the game prioritizes fluid movement and direct confrontation over modern trends that often slow down the pace of combat. Visually, SYS//PURGE_ embraces a retro-inspired aesthetic that complements its gameplay perfectly. The environments feature industrial and technological themes that reinforce the feeling of infiltrating a machine-controlled world. The graphics are intentionally simple, yet they remain effective because they prioritize clarity and atmosphere. Enemies are easy to identify during hectic firefights, environmental details support the game's science-fiction setting, and the overall presentation captures the spirit of older first-person shooters without feeling like a simple imitation. Another strength lies in the game's accessibility. Its straightforward objectives and uncomplicated mechanics make it easy for newcomers to understand, while the randomized progression systems provide enough depth to keep experienced players invested. Runs can be completed in relatively short sessions, making the game suitable for both quick bursts of action and longer attempts aimed at achieving stronger builds or better results. This flexibility works particularly well within the roguelite format, where each playthrough feels like a self-contained challenge. Since the game launched in Early Access, some limitations are inevitable. The current version offers a smaller pool of weapons, enemies, and content than larger commercial releases. Players may eventually notice repetition after extended play sessions, especially if they are accustomed to shooters with expansive campaigns or extensive progression systems. However, the foundation is solid, and the existing mechanics demonstrate considerable potential for future growth. The developer's willingness to gather community feedback and expand the game over time gives reason to believe that the experience will continue to evolve. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of SYS//PURGE_ is that it delivers all of this as a free experience. Despite its modest scope, it provides a rewarding gameplay loop built around exploration, combat, and experimentation. The combination of roguelite progression and old-school shooter design works remarkably well, creating an experience that feels both nostalgic and fresh. It may not yet possess the depth of the genre's biggest names, but it succeeds in offering an entertaining and replayable adventure that respects players' time while delivering satisfying action. For players who enjoy fast movement, randomized progression, and arcade-style gunplay, SYS//PURGE_ is an easy recommendation. Its blend of retro FPS fundamentals and modern roguelite mechanics creates a compelling formula that remains enjoyable across multiple runs. While additional content would strengthen the overall package, the current version already showcases a promising vision and a strong understanding of what makes this style of shooter fun. Rating: 8/10
Oyun 90'ların klasiklerinden esinlenilmiş, roguelike unsurlar içeren, ücretsiz ve hızlı tempolu bir FPS oyunudur. Eşyaları toplayın, hayatta kalın ve tesisin derinliklerine inin. Bir LN-X ünitesinin kontrolünü ele alıyorsunuz, bir aksaklık sizi Gözetmen'in kontrolünden kurtarıyor. Onu yakıp kül edin. Bu arada mermi bitince camı kırıp kaçmak harika olmuş.
Game itself as a backbones seem prettty good and most importantly playable, but there is plenty of things that could be done to improve the game (add more weapons and also weapon proggression [you start with your only meele and after some time yopu pick up more and more weapons from enemies also meaning if you have the same weapon you gain remaining bullets in magazine from dead enemys gun, character upgrades can stay the way they are but weapon upgrades could be separate for each weapon [no need visual difference], after you die instead of showing instantly results it would turn camera to third person and then after any imput player gives it shows result window [can skip camera transition mid transition to result window with any input])
This game is very average and could probably use a lot of work. Also, you could definitely improve the shop
