I have known about Synthesis Universe and have been attracted to its design since very early in development. I will be reviewing this title as a fellow developer full disclosure. I really enjoyed the symbiotic relationship of music and puzzles used by the developer. It was easy to find out what to do next with the various subtle cues and that was very appreciated. There wasn't much usage out of hand controllers which I found myself putting aside and continued the experience using only my gaze. With all that aside, The art style is one of a kind and I JUST WANT MORE. for 10 dollars is a little high IMO for 15-20 minutes of content but after using VR for a very long time this is one of those titles that really transports you and keeps your attention throughout which is rare for me. At this point, I just want to binge all the episodes!
15 minutes of mostly cinematic musical VR experience with very little substance. Feels more like a demo for a future product. It has clean low-poly visuals synced with music, but there is nothing interesting or memorable to look at. Seriously, I've just watched it about 10 minutes ago and I already can barely remember what was happening there)
Interessante, abstrakt-surrealistisch-futuristische VR-Erfahrung. Vielleicht muss man ewig ganz still rumstehen, keine Ahnung.
OK, so be very careful that you do not miss this VR experience. Perseverance furthers. Mind = Blown.
The blend of music and visuals creates a trippy experience. The ending especially is great, and one moment in particular in the middle made me visually mind-blown.
Lose yourself in a inexplicable sonic and psychedelic landscape... /error. Cannot Articulate. SU isn't a game, it's a bizarre mind melting experience that I've been seeing hints and demos of for the last several years. So glad Olivier finally shipped!
I read the reviews before purchasing and I assumed it was going to be about 30 minutes long give or take a few minutes. Unfortunately the game was done and dusted just shy of 16 minutes. Most of the end sequence was filled up by a preview of what was to come. I appreciate the developers efforts on this short demo of his work and was looking forward to hearing his music in full but in what can only be described as short preludes of a tune for each very short sequence I feel very much short changed. Im disappointed the way this has turned out as the developer says he has put a lot of R&D and time into this. I really wanted to enjoy this and support an independant artist but for what little was on offer I felt obliged to refund.
Interesting experience but only lasted 10-15 minutes. I refunded because of the length but would re-purchase in the future if more content is added.
A truly beautiful experience. The detail and the complexity of everything around you is so amazing, and the music makes it all come alive. Lots of genuine "wow" moments. I can't wait for what's next in this universe. Edit: One tip for players is to look up in the "menu" area. I think you need to view the main story part first to unlock them, but there are three pentagonal flower shapes above you to the left and right that open up and take you to other scenes/modes. I had no idea until I read the store page that mentioned the added scenes. Anyway, I was very happy to discover this.
