Having searched Eastern and Western Europe for a missing heir, Kate Walker finally completed her long and arduous journey, obtaining the signature of Hans Voralberg and closing the automaton factory buyout.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Great classic, very atmospheric. I used to play it when I was a kid, one of my first videogames ever with my cousin, but I never finished it. Now I told myself i was gonna finish it with no guides, but some of the puzzles are completely random actions, or impossibly hard to find places to click on. I had to check a guide a couple times after being stuck for ages and it always turned out to be a completely illogical action to take:
WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVE TO CLICK ON THE TRAIN HOOK AFTER THE TWO YUKOL MOUNTED IT, JUST TO TIGHTEN IT? WHY WOULD I THINK IT NEEDED TO BE TIGHTENED? I spent like an hour """running""" around the village (which is huge), clicking every single spot like a maniac.
Anyway, it's alright for being 20 yo or something i guess; the remastered version of the first game added mechanics just to prevent you from being stuck like that.
Pretty much the same issues as the first game but differently weighted. While the movement is slightly better, its reliance on it is even worse. A lot more back and forth in admittedly more interesting scenes. You'd think this would make the game slightly better, but no. The entire beginning is a detour from the story unraveling. There's an annoying and ugly seal-dog that you have to deal with and the puzzles are much worse. There's a climbing sequence that is turned into a puzzle without any visual cues. They made the game look slightly better but feel even worse. It's so persistent on wasting your time that I don't know how people find it enjoyable.
"Who's the Most Annoying" is another blanket in a cold winter day that made the choice to do a contest against the first game in the series on which of them has the most annoying progression and characters. Hands down, Hans beats Oscar. I thought that robot was annoying. Boy, was I wrong. Hans is a childrish little prick that needs a good slapping. Grow the F up! But yet, I enjoy the atmosphere so much that it pulls me to finish the game despite wishing slow painful death on some of the people in it... From Wimp to Keen - No one is more wimpy than Hans.
I adored the whimsical atmosphere of the first game and how the automatons were these outlandish yet familiar creations spread all across your journey, and Kate Walker, a straight-cut lawyer who finds a sense of adventure. With the cliff hanger ending, I believed that Syberia 2 would simply be continuing that storyline thread and tell an even more interesting story, but unfortunately it doesn't. Syberia 2 has the same backtracking, annoying puzzles, and slow movement the first game has, but somehow it felt more annoying to me this time. Despite this, the art is still beautiful, and getting on the train is still a magical experience but for some reason the game just tosses out what Syberia 1 established?
Hans is a weird old man whose motives and history you never fully learn despite sharing a journey with him. Oscar is even more useless and this time it isn't funny. The villains are stupid. The journey has a boring loop of arrive->issue->solve->actually here's another issue->leave on train. Kate's old employers are somehow some shady organization that acts as secondary antagonists and sends someone who is supposed to be chasing her, yet Kate never finds out so there's no sense of "we're running out of time and have to escape this man" and it's all just time-wasting FMVs to divide the story into chapters. And worse of all, Kate loses all agency! She's just on this journey because Hans, and not to learn and grow as her own person, and never really learns WHY Hans wants to go to Syberia beyond "Mammoths."
I genuinely don't understand why the quality of storytelling takes such a nosedive but it's actually so disappointing. I'd rate this a 4/10 when the first was a sold 7 or 8/10.
