"Who's the Most Annoying" is another blanket in a cold winter day that made the choice to do a contest against the first game in the series on which of them has the most annoying progression and characters. Hands down, Hans beats Oscar. I thought that robot was annoying. Boy, was I wrong. Hans is a childrish little prick that needs a good slapping. Grow the F up! But yet, I enjoy the atmosphere so much that it pulls me to finish the game despite wishing slow painful death on some of the people in it... From Wimp to Keen - No one is more wimpy than Hans.
This sequel is even worse than the first game. It's more of the same: trial-and-error puzzles with no hints, pixel hunting and lots of walking around (e.g. there is a puzzle where the reset button is 6 screens away). However, this time the story is even more retarded and nonsensical, with a thoroughly disappointing Yukol village and a lame ending. In addition to Oscar being useless, now we also have Hans, who is nothing more than a problem generator. They also added a cartoonishly evil villain that was totally unnecessary, and sometimes there is a low-budget cutscene about a private investigator following Kate but never getting close so it's pointless. I can't recommend this even if you liked the first Syberia.
A highly recommended point-and-click adventure game, a great sequel to the first part. One particular puzzle was very complex, I'm not sure if there is anybody out there who was able to solve it completely on his/her own, without the slightest hint/help. As with the first part, hopefully they will remaster this sequel too.
Pretty much the same issues as the first game but differently weighted. While the movement is slightly better, its reliance on it is even worse. A lot more back and forth in admittedly more interesting scenes. You'd think this would make the game slightly better, but no. The entire beginning is a detour from the story unraveling. There's an annoying and ugly seal-dog that you have to deal with and the puzzles are much worse. There's a climbing sequence that is turned into a puzzle without any visual cues. They made the game look slightly better but feel even worse. It's so persistent on wasting your time that I don't know how people find it enjoyable.
My wife and I played both 1 and 2. The story, graphics, and music are great even by today's standards. The puzzles are OK and some aren't that logical. This is a gaming classic. Play is for the adventure experience.
