About
From the visionary artist behind ABZÛ, The Pathless, and Journey – Sword of the Sea is an atmospheric surfing adventure with highspeed Hoversword movement inspired by skateboarding and snowboarding.
Carve your way forward on the ancient and powerful Hoversword, which moves like a snowboard, skateboard, and surfboard all in one. Build momentum to reach top speed and catch big air off the crests of giant waves. Pull off radical flips, spins, and grab tricks with ease as you shred halfpipes, ramps, and wall rides. It’s the perfect balance of exhilarating action and fluid, meditative movement.
Explore a world where the land flows in constant waves. From massive tides to the smallest ripples, the shifting sea of dunes is incredibly detailed and beautifully rendered. Surf across sandy deserts, glacial mountains, and many more undulating environments full of secrets in this incredible adventure.
You are the Wraith – resurrected in the desolate Necropolis on a quest to unveil the ancient sea buried beneath the land. Discover the remnants of a lost culture hidden in sinking tombs and skatepark-like ruins as you search for purpose. Transform sandy dunes into glittering, emerald waters and witness magical sealife return in huge, breathtaking shoals. Feel the spiritual magic of surfing as you connect with nature and restore life – but beware, there is also darkness lurking under the waves.
Developed by the renowned indie team Giant Squid, Sword of the Sea features the unique artistic design of creative director Matt Nava and beautiful music composed by Grammy winning Austin Wintory. Long time creative partners, their works together include beloved indie games ABZÛ, The Pathless, and the legendary, award-winning game Journey.

比前作的前作ABZU好玩,比前作roadless更胜一筹,本作融入了ABZU的水元素与Roadless的火元素,有继承也有创新,节奏是最快的一代,可惜流程太短,只有两个小时。最后的BOSS战真美
Although I think I liked Journey and Abzu more, there really is nothing else like their games and this one is no exception. Absolutely stunning music and visuals with pleasant gameplay to relax to and take in. Short for the price but excellent nonetheless
this is one of the best games I have ever played in my life
Another beautiful Giant Squid game. If you like Journey and Abzu, this is exactly what you looking for.
Lovely game with a lovely soundtrack, easy recommendation! Could've been slightly better optimized, although, considering the terrain is basically one giant layered shader effect (just listened to that episode of PWL) it could be a feat that the game is running as smooth as it does lol
Skate story is better
Another gorgeous piece of art by Giant Squid. Visuals and soundtrack are breathtaking and the skating controls are fun.
10/10 Sword of the Sea is a breathtaking experience that blends stunning visuals, fluid movement, and an emotional atmosphere into something truly special. Gliding across vast dunes and ancient ruins is both relaxing and exhilarating, making exploration a constant joy. The game's gorgeous art direction and haunting soundtrack create an immersive world, while its subtle environmental storytelling gives the adventure real emotional depth. It feels like the culmination of Giant Squid's creative journey. It builds on the sense of wonder found in ABZÛ, the evocative environmental storytelling of The Pathless, and the studio's unmistakable artistic vision, bringing those strengths together into their most refined work yet.
Fun game with stunning visuals. It's the perfect kind of experience to unwind with after a long day. That said, it's very short. An extra hour or two of content would have gone a long way. Performance is also surprisingly poor. I couldn't even maintain 60 FPS on an RTX 5070 Ti. The game ships without DLSS support, which feels outrageous for a modern PC release. Despite those issues, it's still a great game. I'd recommend picking it up on sale.
