Swarm Universe

My first impression is, that Swarm Universe is a great game! Bot-7 has a great sense of humor and introduces you really well to the game and it's mechanics. The well integrated ranking system gets you hooked. You want to climb the ladder further and further (or at least be better than your friends). The gameplay itself is fun and challanging at the same time. I have played with the keyboard. The controls are good, but I can imagine that they are even better with a controller. The level editor opens up a huge potential for future maps and game modes. The price is fair for the amount of content that you get. I can definitly recommend this game!

Ziemlich herausfordernde Level - like it. Würde ein Gamepad empfehlen für alle die wie ich nicht aufhören können und Krämpfe in den Fingern vermeiden wollen, Multiplayer ich kommeee!! Kann es nicht erwarten meinen Swarm auf meine friends loszulassen. ;-)

Avoid unless the game is on discount and you already own a controller or stick. If you want to rebind keyboard controlls for a more ergonomic experience, a restart of the game may be required for the controls to work, and they'll still only provide a clumsy aproximation of control over the swarm. NO options for mouse controls except for when playing a "shooter mode" that has nothing to do with controlling a swarm. Didn't bother to try much of the game's content because of the nature of the keyboard controls - this review may be updated after I find my controller.

Neat looks and a great soundtrack! Gameplay works really well, as soon as you get used to "moving like a swarm". Bot-7 has kind of a "tongue in cheek" humor, made me laugh. Cute! Didn't check the modding stuff yet, but this is a really nice indie game.

Swarm Universe hat mich überrascht. Ich bin normal kein Fan dieser Art von Spiel. Aber es ist mir irgendwie interessant vorgekommen, außerdem wurde es mir von einem Freund empfohlen. Man bewegt seinen Schwarm durch Schlauchlevels und Arenen und wird dabei von Bot-7 unterhalten, der in Anlehnung an Glados spaßige Sprüche von sich gibt - wenn er auch lange nicht an KI von Portal rankommt. Das Ziel des Games ist es erst einmal das Level zu schaffen - doch dann kommt der knackige Part: Den Highscore knacken! Seinen Schwarm bewegt man mittels Gamepad. Die Drohnen um einen dienen als Geschosse. Diese werden durch die eigene Bewegung in Schwung gebracht. Drückt man die Abschusstaste, fliegen die Drohnen in die Richtung ihres aktuellen Moments davon. Das Ganze ist simpel zu lernen, aber hart zu meistern. Es macht jedenfalls Spaß. Einen Multiplayer gibt es ebenfalls. Hier kann man offene Lobbies erstellen und betreten, oder Freunde einladen. Dank eingebautem Editor lassen sich alle möglichen Spielinhalte erstellen, aber auch vom Steam Workshop herunterladen. So zB. Levels, Mehrspielerarenen, Gegnertypen und vieles mehr! Von mir jedenfalls eine klare Empfehlung für dieses kurzweilige Game.
