Swarm 2 is a roguelike shooter built VR with a unique movement mechanic, global leaderboards, and weekly challenges. Endlessly replayable and infinitely challenging. It's like Spider-Man with Guns!

Fantastic, but buggy. Game's great. It solves every issue I had with the first one. You get a dash for fine motion control, iron-man style thrusters, the controls are reworked, you bounce off the water instead of dying, and the rogue-like elements are great. However. There's a bug with this game, and Yupitergrad 2, that isn't present in Swarm 1, or Yupitergrad 1. I know, I own both of them, and I tested all of them, on the exact same setup (Quest 3, Steam Link, RTX 3070 GPU). The bug is very obvious: shake your head. The world will shake with it. Doesn't matter if you're in game, in the menu, in a cutscene, anywhere. It's specific to these two games, other games don't do it. And it's not a Steam Link issue: if you open the Steam menu (left menu button) and shake your head, the world will shake, but the Steam VR menu will stay rock-steady. It's very easy to see just how much the world shakes, in contrast to the motionless panel. I've tried lowering the framerate from 120FPS to 90 or even 72 FPS, and lower framerates make it noticeably worse. I've tried lowering the resolution to bump the framerate but I'm easily capped out at 120, and it's still unpleasant. If someone knows a way to uncap the framerate, let me know, I bet my rig could do 200FPS on this thing, which might make the shaking so small that it's a non-issue. It's definitely playable, if slightly nauseating. The trick is to just never turn your head too fast. With most of the environments far away, and most of your head movements being gradual, it's workable, and I am still keeping the game. But man, whatever Quest -> PC porting framework they (and Yupitergrad 2) used, needs a serious bugfix.
Others have mentioned this bug but I feel like it hasn't been stressed enough, the screen shakes when you move your head in any direction making this game borderline unplayable unless you keep your head perfectly still. Games not worth it until this bug is fixed.
Like spiderman with gunz and rogue like elements
So unfortunately, the bug of the world shaking still isnt fixed at all. I thought i could just work through it as someone without motion sickness but its so awful and the game seems abandoned at this point and theres no fix in sight even among the small community. You can push through and just like not move your head much but its only so sustainable. I bought this for like 3 bucks or something and im considering refunding it. Selling it for 25 is highway robbery. shame. Loved the first game.
Unplayable due to constant screen shaking/vibrating.
its pretty good actually. i dont like the tech feature though (i dont use it)
Works perfectly fine on HP Reverb G2 in SteamVR mode, but I also experienced a serious issue like other reviews say (with other headsets) - I feel like there's a small delay with image rotation when you turn your head, or some world shaking. Definitely something is off in comparison to other games. I have pretty strong VR legs, so I can still play, but it's definitely not fine for most people. The game itself is pretty fun - swinging with grapple lines like Spider-Man, dashing in the air and shooting at enemies. You can't land, you have to keep swinging, outrunning rockets shot at you, and collect shards to upgrade your skills and buy perks between runs.
Played on Vive Pro 2 with wands. Looks and plays great. Default settings and controls are perfect, jump right in and start swinging and blasting, after a quick tutorial. Access the in-game menu by pressing the system button then dismissing the SteamVR dashboard.
personally i love this game, sucks no one really knows this game. granted on virtual desktop the screen shakes the first few times it stops after playing it for a while though fun game to pour time into
