In Suzerain si simula cosa vuol dire essere il presidente di una fittizia nazione di un mondo simile al nostro in piena Guerra Fredda. Il gioco è narrativo, con la vicenda che si sviluppa tramite discussioni che possiamo influenzare con scelte multiple. La profondità è eccezionale e raramente le scelte che ci saranno chieste saranno facili, mai senza conseguenze. Sono ancora alla prima partita, e per ora posso solo rimproverargli che la situazione ad un certo sembra precipitare a prescindere, ma forse è solo causa di mie scelte passate. Insomma, un must per tutti gli appassionati di giochi politici.

Suzerain, c'est une drogue : une fois qu'on y a goûté, impossible de s'en passer. Sur le fond, c'est un peu la version RP de Democracy, avec cette dimension narrative et roleplay qui donne une vraie épaisseur aux choix politiques. Et il est maintenant en français grâce à un moddeur ! Seul bémol : le système de dialogues devient répétitif et fastidieux quand on refait le jeu une 2e ou 3e fois. Sinon, le DLC Ryzia est excellent, notamment sa partie "wargame" où on dirige son armée au combat, avec un feeling proche de Company of Heroes III. Un jeu addictif, avec juste ce qu'il faut de défauts pour ne pas être parfait.
Rarement un jeu n'a autant mérité le tag "Simulation politique" et Suzerain se situe clairement dans le haut du panier parmi les jeux narratifs ! Ce jeu est est d'une qualité exceptionnelle qu'on ne soupçonne pas forcément au premier coup d'œil ! Je tiens notamment à souligner le réalisme et le soin apportés à l'écriture des personnages. On ne peut que regretter l'absence de traduction française. Nonobstant on profite de l'histoire, de la richesse de l'univers de Suzerain et de la diversité de politiques que l'on peut suivre. Le tout est harmonieusement intégré à la trame narrative du mandat présidentiel qu'on exerce, ce qui a le double avantage de ne pas se perdre dans une multitude d'options de gameplay tout en nous permettant de constater les conséquences de nos choix et d'y réagir. À ce titre, il convient de mentionner la durée de vie plus qu'honorable du jeu : plus de 40h pour ma première partie. On a ainsi le temps de s'imprégner de la situation politique, économique et diplomatique du Sordland (notre pays), de prendre des décisions, d'être confronté à leurs conséquences puis de prendre de nouvelles décisions en fonctions d'elles. En bref, Suzerain est vraiment un incontournable pour tout passionné de la politique !
