For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I have very mixed feelings about Suzerain. I speak only here about the base game, as I have not had the opportunity to play the DLC. I think to fully understand what this game is, one has to accept that it is not so much a "political sim" as it is an outright visual novel, with all the pro's and con's that genre comes with. In particular, Suzerain suffers from the way that it is oriented around visual novel logic, i.e. that reaching conclusions often necessitates triggering certain flags or meeting certain criteria in previous conversations. For example, at one point during a conversation with an important figure, if you do not choose salad as a side course, it more or less sinks your chances at convincing her to side with you. This, I feel, is rather frustrating, and takes you out of the experience, as it becomes less about shaping your country and more about following a rather rigid set of responses to get the outcome you desperately need. For me, this especially became true as I often had to outright follow guides to get anywhere near what my RP goals were (skill issue, I know) and this felt quite frustrating. Another inherent issue with the visual novel approach is that some choices are true positives, which is to say that they are always the correct choice to make. Choosing to "visit affected towns" in response to unrest is always the best choice, while the other choices are objectively worse, in all runs you can imagine. Another example is a set of reforms that are proposed by
a military figure in the game
, which are always in any playthrough true positives, despite them making a lot less sense in some playthroughs. This is very typical of the visual novel genre, and a limitation in how one can build a visual novel story, but I think it degrades the sense of roleplay and "simulation" that one experiences when playing this game. Suzerain does however get the "novel" part of the visual novel quite right. Most of the characters are vivid and interesting, and the overall story is a joy to experience. The writing is also of an exceptionally high quality. I have enjoyed my time with the game, especially after they added the "skip seen text" option, as the lack of this option at release made it quite tedious to explore the game's many outcomes and stories. Overall, I am happy to recommend the game to others, but caution that one needs to go into this with the mindset that it is a visual novel, not a simulation game.
有点虎头蛇尾,但沉浸感还不错。
I wasn't expecting to love this game as much as I did! Really felt like I was the president of a country making hard decisions with unknown outcomes. I wish there was more information and clarity on government spending and the economics of the country, but everything else was great!
This game has to be the best game on Steam in terms of politics and consequences for your actions. The intricacies and unintended consequences for your actions, increase the replay ability, and the enjoyment of the story. The only thing I could want, is more DLCs.
As an incredibly rich visual novel, Suzerain is not your standard game. The world it paints is detailed with real political ideas wrapped in an alternative history twist. I don't like to go too deep in my reviews on the story, but basically, you become president of the country of Sordland in what would be a 1950s fictional world. A country very much divided in ideology, economy, and social issues, and your job is to rule it however you want. But can you keep political rivals at bay? Stop the economic recession? Defend, reform, or demolish democracy? The choices are fully yours in this game, but so are the consequences. With many important decisions across what took me a 40 hour playthrough (I am a slow reader). The deep story is supported by likewise incredibly deep characters, each with their own ambitions and stories to play out. It's a dense game, it even offers an entire in-game encyclopedia, giving paragraphs of history on characters, locations, and more. Alongside all of that comes an even better DLC of Rizia. If you're interested in the visual novel genre and want a dense political story, this game is absolutely a must.
