Reviews
The game was exceptional. I was completely unable to put it down after starting, because of how gripping the narrative was. I wish I'd done better, but cest la vie. For my first time playing I'd say avoiding getting assassinated/overthrown is a perfectly fine accomplishment. Just be careful with your economic policy, or you'll really mess things up, like I did. I strongly recommend the game to anyone who likes well-written stories, and definitely to anyone interested in politics. Most emotions I felt during the game were dampened versions of the real thing, but the stress of managing the country was absolutely genuine. This game goes into the same category as Not for Broadcast in terms of the quality of its political commentary. You can be sure I'll be thinking about it for years to come. 10/10, could not recommend more.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Great story, the gameplay is meh since most of the time you ARE just reading. But the decisions you make greatly impact what will happen in the ending. I really recommend this game, especially the DLC.
Yeah, Sordland fell apart, people are unemployed, angry and afraid, there is no budget left but i got elected for the second term to push the economic depression towards a total default and to jail the rest of Bluds. No concentration camps available unfortunately. 9/10
I enjoyed playing this game and i think its teaches pretty good political debate and shows many possibilities on how to run a nation. The only thing i could ask for is to add more content, now i havent played the dlc or done more than 1 run but i imagine it will be fun to play.

"You are my enslavement and my freedom. You are my flesh burning like a raw summer night. You are my country." !SPOILERS! Duh Suzerain is a political thriller visual novel game that puts you in the seat of the 4th ever elected president of Sordland, Anton Rayne while he navigates the complexities of the entrenched deep state influence of the Old Guard, the corruption (media, financial, etc.) of the Oligarchs that can destroy Sordland's already fragile and receding economy, the various political parties (USP; reformist and conservative, the NFP, and the PFJP) all with their own goals, interests, and corruption hiding below the veneer of polite statesmanship, and even your personal relationship with your wife, son, and daughter. You can choose to do almost anything within the scope of the game, from being another "drain the swamp" type that plunges Sordland into a great depression while flying away to a capitalist heaven with all your ill gotten gains, to becoming a dictator that passes an empowered constitution, all to go around behind the conservatives and the nationalists backs (who helped you get it passed) and use your corruption to end corruption and make Sordland a better place for everyone. After I finished my first playthrough, I had this feeling of completion, for all my failings with the economy, failing to pass a reformist constitution, and even getting assassinated by the Oligarchs, the ending felt quite fitting, I was a naive and clean president with unwavering ideals, but reality soon hit me. Your party (USP) all step in line and oppose you if you try to improve assembly representation, the nationalists (NFP) hate this too but for more uncivilized reasons and not pragmatism (discrimination instead of trying to preserve power), and my only "ally" the PFJP (moderate reformists) who scapegoated me and blamed me for failing to pass a more progressive constitution. The only things I really achieved was giving women more rights and autonomy, funding a welfare state improving the medical and education system, while making the justice system more fair and less corrupt by ways of the anti-corruption police force that ended up exposing the Old Guard plot to destabilize the nation and declare an emergency to concentrate power for themselves and their cult of personality leader Tarquin Soll. My second run was the "Good Corrupt Dictator" way, where I dismantled Soll's legacy and had him imprisoned for his crimes, eliminated the Oligarchs with my secret police, gave the Bludish people autonomy in Bergia, and many other "woke" things, it ended with me being pushed out of the USP and me retiring from politics into winemaking. It goes to show how good the writing is when every ending no matter how grim or selfish they are, they feel poetic and fitting, you can even have an ending where you fight to the last man and hold yourself up in your office against an invading force or win singlehandedly against said invading force and even annex their territory. The most confusing aspect came after I finished my first playthrough. I felt both disgusted and hopeful for the political systems that govern us, both emboldened and bitter at the people who will help or hinder progress, and even made me reevaluate my personal standings. After all, the mark of a good piece of media (in my opinion) is that it challenges your views and makes you ponder your pre-concived notions and biases. Even if you don't like politics the game can tug at your heartstrings, I felt guilty after a certain event involving your VP and his untimely exit, and carried it through my whole playthrough with me thinking "what if I just told him?" The soundtrack while atmospheric and very fitting, there isn't much to say, many tracks perfectly fit the moment, from the Prologue theme popping up whenever Soll is the focus, to the Pinnacle theme playing at pivotal moments like your reelection speech near the end of the game, to the slow and longing feeling that the Reform theme gives you. I'm much looking forward to hearing how the Rizia OST matches up with a monarchy style of governance. 9/10 game whose only flaws are minor and only really noticeable upon multiple playthroughs, such as the good ending to the VP situation feeling almost no different than the bad one that doesn't involve Karl or the SSP. Aside from that, I was completely enamored by the game and its analogue to the real world and Turkey back in Cold War times, many characters I grew to love, hate, and begrudgingly respect, all in a game that lacks voiceovers (Final Cut version please?).
I was glad my dry run resulted in me becoming a Single term president who helped people. But sometimes I don't know what the game wants from me in regards to my decision and I worry that it's trying to push me to more extreme political ends for what I feel are no reason.
