SCAM, buggy, no content, not even survival, just ignore this one.

The good: Basic tools and clothing items can be crafted without a crafting bench. You can build and upgrade a base. You don’t need to craft guns because you can just run at charging animals or shooting NPCs and hit them 6-7 times with a basic pick axe or axe to kill them. The bad: Many bugs reported on the Steam community and discussion pages since the game released still exist. Ie. Cooked meat cannot be eaten, respawn points not working or disappearing, random permadeath/ unable to find a body, base disappearing, bugged crafting benches (even when fueled and turned on), gun mechanics, etc. The ugly: Game is promoted as single, coop, and multi-player with Online PVP. A quick search of You Tube by reviewers directly refer to the game as multiplayer. THERE IS NO MULTIPLAYER! How can it be MMO or online Pvp????? Yes, there is a multiplayer option screen. Opening it on June 30 reports FOUND NO SERVERS. Spoke with the dev on discord and was told that the issue would be fixed the following day. Opening multiplayer on July 2 and 1 server was listed, with a PING of 9999. In other words unplayable.I saved screenshots of both. Issues raised again with the dev on July 2, re: no multiplayer available and unfixed bugs. Dev claimed there were US and EU servers but he closed them and then said that multiplayer was only “in the plans for later”. When I questioned if his claims were overpromise- underdeliver I was kicked and banned from the discord channel. Profile for the developer’s account (Macro-man) lists multiple game bans on record. Discord page dedicates an area to “investors” and has mentions of the dev being available online to “gold investors”, whatever they are. It is really too bad that Steam does not require developers to post a roadmap for their games on the store page. This would enable followers of the game to check if there is an actual direction for the game and if any progress is really occurring despite claims of regular “updates”. Survival Africa is a real stinker at 2-3$ range much less at 20$.

i really wanted to post a posative review on this game but i have no choice to not recomend this game ive played 35 hours and thats just dying and respawning i havent had a chance to build anything or even survive you die from something that isnt food or water being lacked its just your health drains for no reason and the guns are broken when you respawn and collect them from your body despite me telling the dev over a year ago about these issues he said they would be fixed at the end of the month that was last year they are not fixed and your forced to start a fresh game multipal times at every update more or less not to mention get perma banned from the hub because you post a comment about the issues not being fixed and ban reason harrasment how is telling a dev something isnt fixed harrasment if you like survival games find another one because the dev seems to have gone off on one and banning everyone that posts negativity in his discord or on the steam page itself instead of messaging me asking me why i was so upset about the game and what can be done he perma bans me for harrasment he has a gold member thing on his discord if you aint part of that you aint gettin support as one user found out when he got banned from the discord just for mentioning the same game breaking stuff i experianced for 33 hours i have done nothing but die respawn collect my stuff to not have the guns work cant eat meat the map keeps ending up with roads and then no roads in the next update as a ex dev i gave this developer a chance because i dont review games on the way they are i test them extensivaly and then review them but when the dev starts acting like a child and bans me for no reason then that makes me angry all i have merely tried to do is play this game in peace but loose everything on death and when collecting the guns from your dead charcter there renderd unusable he wont fix it i wish to go i never purchased this game now and got a refund but i thought no ill give the dev a chance as i see too many devs slated down for there games in early access but banning me for expressing my feelings and how i think he should fix things in the game is childish i am adding this to my review but will not change my review untill i see fit and the dev stops slating me down all because i gave a negative review hes fixed the guns not being usable after death he has also fixed the constent dying for no reason these fixes came with yesterdays update the crocadile update however now after 77 hours im able to play the game build a base and so on there are still some issues firstly when leveling up after saving your game going to the main menu and then loading your save your level is reset to level 1 secondly the map doesnt work when pressing m or rebinding the key for the togle world map it doesnt work thirdly the map isnt as big as what it has been posted as you start off in savanha which is the only map available in the drop down menu anyway but you can walk the entire length of the map the desert and the other part with small ammounts of forestry also the videos he posted where they was hitting trees multipal times and getting infinate wood wasnt even a bug or a glitch in the game or we would of all had this happen there is a special console enabled in game for admins and owners this is unavilable to us customers ive checked that the console is enabled with y unity engine debugger and it clearly says it is in the game but not enabled however this can and does get enabled at times by devs when debuging there game please read carefully i am not nore never was slating this game down i couldnt give ppl lies about the game saying yes everythings awsome the games wicked buy it that would have just been wrong of me i held off for a year for my review because i wanted to give the guy a chance but then he started acting the way he has and has illegally used my steam name in the store page which i have requested to be removed if it isnt removed the law will be involved i am a down to earth person an adult and i am free to speak how i wish i am not going to white wash a game and say its perfect and works with bugs in it however whatever you did in the last update fixed the constant death and guns but now the silencers you was meant to have fixed in one of the updates do not work because therer not even on the barel of the gun there invisably connected to the barrel so they have no effect also the loot crates keep droping the same items the lmg and c4 ammo and a clip again i am not dissing your game but i am entitled to my opionion and you cant bully me into changing it i will change it when i get a public appolagy from you for slating me down and when the bugs are fixed the main issue is the map cant be opened the silencers dont work and the map isnt as big as youve stated on the picture there is only the savanah desert and another place which i dont know the name of as i can not view the full map in game only the mini map the other issue is the reseting of the level you level up save the game log out and when loging back into the game your back at level 1 the animals are also bunched into one now for once read this properly and stop taking offence to users trying to give you important feedback critisisum comes with the gameing industry if you cant handle ppl telling the truth aboiut your game your in the wrong field of work so please stop the childish acts and be civalized about it instead im merely telling you my experiance in singleplayer also i have verified my files multipal times i even uninstalled the game compleatly and bought a external hard drive and installed it to there yet the issues persisted untill you released the crocadile update also i came across a black floating cheap yesterday not that we need a vehical at the moment as we can walk around the whole map in one game day but the vehical was unusable and had no doors the wheels was turning all different angles and if you slightly knocked the car it looked like a hover flying car bouncing off trees now im stating this again i am not nor never was slating your game down i mearly had enough of waiting for over 12 months for things i told you about to be fixed however whatever you did in that update yesterday has fixed the constant death and the gun glitch where it rendered the dead body guns unsablke so yes the game is playable but right now every air drop is the same and there isnt much to do other than build a base and run around the map the area with the 3 bridges where the crocadiles are could do with some more folage and more crocadiles as only 3 spawn please do not take this as hatred towards your game be a cicil adult about it and take what ive stated as its intended as input things to fix we are all adults and what you have done slagging me down publicly is not just against the law as your giving out my steam id to publicity which thanks to you doing so you have no idea what trouble you have caused me ive had to change passwords and user names on servers i own ive been hacked multipal times steam knows about all of this and whats been happening now instead of acting like children can we please stop this one man vendeter you have against me and just be the dean i got to know last year the person that appreciated feedback new update review Some of the above issues have been fixed however main issues mentioned haven't such as up and loosing the level on re log or exit of game you end up back at level 1 every you can no longer find your body the name doesn't show on the map still or above your players head resulting in not being able to get your belongings back the new car is cool but at the same time go buy tokyodrift because that's all the car does is drift all over the place also you press v in the vehicle it doesn't go into fp view to change the radio i got a game that took 3 students 16 weeks to make go play it its called arid there game is survival and free they may help you with your game you never know

Early Access game with a good design. I was not able to play on multiplayer, no servers available. I did play on singleplayer. There is crafting, building, finding loot that spawns and wildlife. It has survival aspects of needing food, water and stamina. I found the food bar drops very quickly. I would have liked more interactable structures such as being able to climb the ladder to the watchtower, build a water well, etc. The character is not customizable, but has a nice design. I was unable to rotate the building structures except by walking around and placing. Hoping they continue working on this EA game, it has a nice design.

This EA game deserve a lot more attention from all players that like to play survival games. o.c. there need a lot to be done and thats normale at this stage, but we can say that for example, the "crafting and building" systems are easy to handle and one OF THE BEST i have seen on EA and even out of ea games. The shooting system could be better, on other side enough differerence of tools & weapons for the stage the game have atm. If you like to support EA Survival games, this is for sure one that should have your attention. Looking forward to further employment of it ! Have fun !

After Update 2022 can't load game anymore, black screen

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! Last update was Sep 2022 with a note that 2 more updates before full release. Game is NOT even close to ready for full release. 3/4/2024 they banned me from the game discord for this review and trying to warn people of this scam game! Sad that this is still available for purchase on Steam. MeanDean turned this over to Roxy and took over a game name she was developing. Roxy does not communicate at all with players. She said an update was coming in Dec 2023 and here it is 18 Feb 2024 and still has not happened. Asked about it 4 days ago and no info. MeanDean pops in Survival Africa discord and pipes up when someone asked questions and then banned me from his Discord for "Sustained" for asking him about Survival Africa. Looks like both games are complete scams. I bought Survival Africa and donated money to MeanDean via patreon and he thanks me by a ban for asking him questions. Said he was not involved with SA anymore even though just a couple days before he said in the SA discord that he was the developer. MeanDean has changed the name of publisher from Iconic Studio to Iconic Studios I am guessing so no one knows he is associated with this game while he works on his new game Sustained. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS SCAM! Even at 80% off, it is not worth it. Unless they are actually paying you to play this, don't even consider it. Even then, not worth your time. Games like this one and Sustained do some small update on the backend to make Steam think they are still updating them even though this one has went years since an update that actually does anything. Steam is complicit in these scams because they get their cut every time someone buys them.

just clunky clunky clunky... the user interface, the controls, the animations, the sounds (what little there are), the gameplay. Its one guy but man it has a lonnnnnnnnng way to go before its ready for primetime.

Fun game, developer is very active and communicates with his community, regular updates unlike a lot of other early access games. Neat take on survival in someplace different besides a city with Zombies or a jungle/Island.
