A great and fun game that is easy to pick up and play at any time. What might seem quite a simple game a first, Sure Footing definitely has a difficulty curve to get high scores as the game ramps up in speed and complexity of the platforming. As seeing this game grow from the early stages as research project to finally being a full playable game, credit needs to go to all those that was apart of the development. + Also it supports multiplayer! #KeepRunning
(Got this game for free courtesy of the dev's submission to SteadyGiveaways. Thanks!)
Another runner inspired by BIT.TRIP RUNNER.
A "pixel" running with a rainbow cape...seen this before? Indeed I have...just like good ol' CommanderVideo from the BIT.TRIP series. You play as a pixel inside a computer avoiding a virus and a malicious pixel. You just keep running and collecting bits to buy upgrades with. The graphics are pretty good, but it is a Unity game, which shows after a while of playing. The gameplay often has you make a forced jump on a jump pad only for you to fall into a pit. Not saying it's bad, but the levels are in need of refinement. Personally, I would rather spring for the original content of BIT.TRIP RUNNER or its sequel, but if this game is on a discount and the other game isn't, then I'd say that Sure Footing would be a good substitute for a bit. It's not bad, but it's just not as good as the original. 5/10 Sure Footing? Sure, I guess...
I got this game in the Jingle Jam 2018 Humble bundle, and I've played a fair amount now. Unlocked the 4 characters and some abilities I'd find fun to use (dash, double jump and crate smash) and it's a good game with a good soundtrack. I am not a fan of the unity borderless windowed aka faux fullscreen (unlike exclusive fullscreen) because there is just so much stutter that it takes a lot away from the experience. Some other annoyance I had was some of the sudden dead drops when you run down a slope and the end isn't flush with the next platform which often sends you straight to your falling death. The camera modes are pretty great, I just wish I could use either stick on my controller to pan the camera down. It's such a risk dropping most places because the automatic panning is so slow. With better performance alone I would've given it a 7@10 for doing what it set out to do, but I'll have to give it a 5@10 for the frustrating hickups and sudden dead drops into the abyss. It's still worth a try if you're into randomized runner's/platformers.
Not sure how they managed to make a one-button infinte runnner feel awkward to control, but they somehow pulled it off. I'm impressed, really.
Good concept but tons of issues in the first minutes I played this. - Replayability value is pretty low - Mobile game quality - Pretty silly, but gamebreaking bugs. In the few minutes I played this game, I got constantly stuck on certain platforms. Jumping not high enough can indeed be a game over, but just being completely stuck in place for the enemy to catch up is a terrible oversight - especially if it keeps on happening. - There's so much you're thrown into (in a survival mode) at first, but absolutely no explanation on what's going on. I tried the "how to play" but I got stuck with 3 layers of menu items, top being "survival mode selections screen" which just made me restart my run All in all, not in a state to be released today.
A very polished, beautiful, and surprisingly tough infinite runner game. Simple to learn, difficult to master, the pumping soundtrack will keep you coming back for more, along with the dreaded just-one-more-go-itis, the very worst of the "I was going to have an early night" diseases.
Follow our Curator Group for more reviews
Sure Footing is an infinite platforming game, much like many mobile games. There isn't any depth to the gameplay, you just jump as your character runs by itself. It is buggy and poorly designed, it wouldn't even pass for a good mobile game. Boring and uninteresting game that wouldn't even be worth playing for free. 1/10
Visit our website for more in-depth reviews and recommendations
Whoah, $10? No. This is an up-jumped Kongregate-style runner. The only thing that makes it not entirely generic is the unlock/upgrade system, which involves a ton of grinding. At $4, I'd say this is bang for your buck.
