Fun and short play sessions!
I'm having a lot of fun with it! It feels like back when mobile games were occasionally actual games instead of disguised storefronts. Not sure if this actually was a mobile game at some point, but in any case it feels pretty natural with a mouse. IMO the roguelike mode is much more fun than Classic.
Excellent little game, it captures the essence of arcade games. Fast-paced, enjoyable gameplay with a surprising roguelike element that I really liked! You'll get your money's worth, don't hesitate at this price!
Pretty simple game, plays similarly to games like Doodle Jump but with the added ability of propelling yourself with the guns instead of just by jumping. Easy to pick up and play for a few rounds.
Super Shootin Star is a hell of a game - easily one of the most fun little pick up and play games I've played all year. This is basically a remastered version of a mobile game but a lot of care has been taken to translate the controls to mouse in a way that makes sense. It also has a bunch of new content in the 'Rogue' mode, which is basically a "collect XP to level up every so often and select from a random set of perks" on top of all the stuff in the regular mode. It doesn't have persistent meta-progression, but it doesn't need it. I'm not even much of a score attack person usually, but have been having a lot of fun trying to claim the top leaderboard spot in this. All in all I think this is a great little package, and the fact that it's priced at just $2CAD is just mind blowing. (PS: I've been playing on Linux under Proton and it's been working perfectly.)
Fantastic little game and deceptively polished for the price point! This game basically has one mechanic and it absolutely nails it. The oldschool fast-paced arcade gameplay is absolutely perfect for a quick 5-10 pickup session, with the rogue mode adding a nice modern twist and variety. Pick this one up if you're looking for something relatively straightforward, extremely well executed, and surprisingly intense!
