Reviews
I'm in the top 150 globally on this game on the Nintendo Switch, about 900 hours played time. My ego sits around 82/75/75/67. Here's my review, which will tend to be critical of more niche things than what other reviewers talk about. To start off: This is the best modern baseball game I've played. Better than SMB4 in its current state. Better than The Show in any of its iterations. The only game I've played that could hold a candle to it is MVP Baseball 2005, and good luck finding that game. The hitting, the pitching, the mojo system -- all great. Some old reviews of this game claim it has "catch up mechanics" where the game assists the CPU when you're winning. This claim is just not true. I've won many games after trailing, and have not noticed any system that prevents this. Some players perform way better than the grade they're given, and this makes the game very fun for me. My league is dominated by Pedro Nixon, a backup catcher with a C grade who can't stop hitting home runs. Rip Dingers, who I think is graded A overall, can't seem to push his ERA above 0.225. Maybe different players will dominate your league. This is where the mojo system is so great. Ball paths tend to be a little formulaic. For example, it's much easier to hit a ball straight between the pitchers' legs than down the line. Ego curves in funny ways. Setting your hitting ego at 79 will make an opposing pitcher much more difficult than 78. You get used to it. Likewise, athletes range from legendary to trash tier. An A+ pitcher will be nearly unhittable. Meanwhile you can tee off on their C- reliever. Disappointingly, the CPU is not a very good manager. Many times, a struggling pitcher will be left out there far too long. I could keep going on, but I'll leave it here. It's a fun game that you should buy if you enjoy baseball.

13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

fun baseball
This game single-handedly made me care about baseball. I don't really have anything negative to say about it other than some apprehension about how EA will handle the 4th game. Good news is you can get this one now. Some pros worth mentioning: • The gameplay is super slick. Pitching and batting feels fair and the difficulty settings are very customizable, so that you can fine tune it to give you the exact level of challenge that you're looking for. • 14 stadiums each with 3 times of day/weather options. Never feels like you're playing in the same place over and over. • The players have some hilarious names and the stadium announcer will announce each of them. • The art style being more cartoonish actually looks more engaging than The Show and other sports games that get stuck in uncanny valley of motion capture. • Customizable teams and leagues offer a lot of options for replayablility. There's a free demo, no reason not to try it.
Phenomenal balance between 'sim' and 'arcade'. Have really enjoyed playing both single player and online co-op franchise modes. Sound and graphics are good, but nothing crazy. Honestly it's the best baseball game I've played in many years, and I'm impressed at how different it feels from SMB1. With that said, I do have some feedback for the developers. Would love to see some more sounds overall - like the ball thumping off the fence or a 'cling!' after hitting a post. Right now it's all kind of generic, and although it doesn't take away from the core gameplay experience, after 50+ hours it all kind of sounds the same. Likewise, I would enjoy seeing the slider move just a tiny bit more towards sim in terms of animations and physics. Again, just little tweaks to make the game feel more alive. Like if I hit the ball into the dugout it should bounce around or there should be players in there that react. Same with the crowd. Maybe it bounces out of the stands like it does in real games sometimes. I dunno, just spitballing. Oh yeah, and while I'm thinking about it, an instant replay feature. All those line drives back to the pitcher need to be reviewed in slow-mo to determine exactly where it hit them. Those sort of finishing touches would be great to see in SMB4!
