good game!
You know what? This little game is fun. After playing a couple of terrible little indie titles, I decided to fire this one up, and I'm glad that I did. It restored some of my hope in these simple indie arcade titles. The gameplay is mostly really smooth, and mouse control is responsive. It's a nice mix of action and fairly straightforward tactics (or, easy puzzle-solving if you like to look at it that way) that's actually pleasing to play. The levels have variety, and new concepts are introduced throughout to force you to change things up a little bit in your playstyle. My only real complaint? It's entirely too short. At only 40 levels, I blasted through them at around 17 minutes. It needs at least three times this much to justify the $1.99 US price tag. Besides, a couple of the concepts introduced late in the game are only used on a couple of levels. Bulk up the out-of-the-box content, and maybe add a simple level editor for users (to be able to publish on Steam Workshop preferably), and you could have a real winner in this little game. It certainly was fun to play. As it is, I can recommend it if it's on a significant sale or you find it in a bundle. We'll call it 6/10 with a potential upside of a couple more points if more content and a level editor get added to the game.

Original and addictive !
Fazit Ein Spiel, was eher an ein Flash-Game erinnert.
Super Grower is a small-scale arcade experience developed and published by NanningsGames that demonstrates how a simple gameplay concept can become surprisingly engaging when executed with confidence and precision. The game strips away complicated systems, elaborate storytelling, and detailed visuals in favor of pure arcade design focused entirely on movement, survival, and gradual growth. Players control a tiny geometric shape trapped inside compact arenas filled with hostile enemies and dangerous projectiles. By collecting glowing objects scattered across the stage, the player grows larger and stronger until they are finally capable of consuming enemies that once posed a threat. It is a concept that sounds almost overly simplistic on paper, yet the game manages to create an addictive gameplay loop driven by tension, fast reflexes, and satisfying progression. One of the first things that stands out about Super Grower is how quickly it introduces players to its mechanics. There are no lengthy tutorials or unnecessary interruptions. Within seconds, the player is already dodging enemy attacks, collecting resources, and learning how growth directly changes the flow of gameplay. At the beginning of each level, survival feels difficult because the player character is small, fragile, and vulnerable to nearly everything on screen. Enemies move aggressively while projectiles force constant repositioning around the arena. However, every collected object increases the player’s size, gradually shifting the balance of power. What initially feels like a desperate survival challenge slowly transforms into a satisfying hunt where enemies become prey rather than threats. This transition from weakness to dominance is the core idea driving the entire experience, and the game handles it remarkably well. The gameplay loop works because it constantly creates tension between risk and reward. Growing larger gives the player more offensive capability, but it also introduces new challenges. Increased size makes maneuvering through tight spaces more difficult, and avoiding enemy attacks becomes more demanding as the player occupies a larger portion of the arena. This creates an interesting balance where growth is both empowering and dangerous at the same time. Players cannot simply rush toward every collectible without considering positioning and enemy behavior. Every movement matters, especially during later stages where projectile patterns become increasingly aggressive and arenas feel more crowded. The game’s mechanics are easy to understand, but mastering them requires focus, precision, and quick reactions. Enemy variety also helps maintain the game’s momentum throughout its relatively short campaign. Different enemy types force players to adapt their strategies instead of relying on a single approach. Some enemies move erratically around the map, while others launch projectiles directly at the player or attempt to corner them within confined spaces. The gradual introduction of these threats keeps the gameplay from becoming stale despite the minimalist design. There is a satisfying rhythm to learning how different enemies behave and figuring out the safest opportunities to grow without putting yourself in unnecessary danger. The game rarely feels unfair because most failures come from player mistakes or poor positioning rather than unpredictable mechanics. Visually, Super Grower embraces extreme minimalism. The environments are built almost entirely from geometric shapes, glowing colors, and clean backgrounds. While some players may initially dismiss the presentation as overly basic, the simplicity actually serves an important gameplay purpose. During intense moments where enemies and projectiles fill the screen, visual clarity becomes essential. The clean art direction ensures players can quickly process incoming threats without unnecessary distractions. The game’s visuals may lack detail, but they remain functional, readable, and surprisingly stylish in motion. The bright colors and smooth animations give the experience a modern arcade aesthetic that feels polished despite its simplicity. The soundtrack also contributes heavily to the overall experience. The electronic music creates a calm but energetic atmosphere that complements the gameplay’s fast pace without becoming distracting. Several tracks have a hypnotic quality that makes repeated attempts feel less frustrating and more relaxing than expected. Combined with responsive controls and quick restarts after failure, the audio helps reinforce the game’s addictive arcade structure. Losing rarely feels punishing because the game immediately encourages another attempt. That fast retry loop becomes one of Super Grower’s greatest strengths because it keeps players focused entirely on improvement rather than frustration. Replayability is another area where the game performs surprisingly well despite its limited amount of content. The main campaign can be completed fairly quickly, especially by experienced arcade players, but the level structure encourages repeated attempts to improve performance and completion times. Endless mode and leaderboard support also add extra motivation for players who enjoy chasing high scores and mastering difficult mechanics. There is a satisfying sense of progression that comes not from unlocking new systems, but from becoming more skilled at surviving increasingly dangerous situations. The game understands the appeal of classic arcade design where mastery itself becomes the reward. However, the minimalist approach also creates some noticeable limitations. While the gameplay remains fun throughout the campaign, the overall experience lacks variety beyond its central mechanic. The visual presentation changes very little over time, and some levels can begin to blend together after extended play sessions. Players looking for narrative depth, major gameplay evolution, or extensive content may find the experience too narrow in scope. The campaign is relatively short, and certain mechanics feel like they are introduced just as the game begins ending. This creates the impression that the concept could have supported additional levels, enemy types, or gameplay modes if expanded further. Difficulty balancing can occasionally feel inconsistent as well. Some stages introduce sudden spikes in projectile density or enemy aggression that may frustrate less experienced players. Since arenas are relatively small, unlucky enemy positioning can sometimes trap the player in situations that feel difficult to escape cleanly. Although most of the challenge feels skill-based, there are occasional moments where success depends slightly too heavily on favorable enemy movement or collectible placement. Fortunately, the quick restart structure prevents these frustrations from becoming overly severe. Super Grower is a compact but polished indie arcade game that proves strong gameplay design can carry an experience even without advanced graphics or deep progression systems. Its addictive growth mechanics, responsive controls, and satisfying balance between survival and empowerment make it easy to recommend to fans of fast-paced arcade gameplay. Though limited in scope and somewhat repetitive over long sessions, the game delivers a focused and enjoyable experience filled with tension, replayability, and surprising charm. Rating: 7/10
