A cozy and beautiful game. You can farm and explore this island, which is very relaxing
Sunset Sprout is a charming farming game built around a strong incremental mechanic. It plays much like a clicker: crops grow quickly, items are produced on short timers, and the experience revolves almost entirely around hands-on management of the production chain, dealing with its bottlenecks by planting additional crops or crafting enough intermediary goods to meet required quotas. The central gameplay loop focuses on fulfilling orders. These never expire, giving you unlimited time to complete them. Outside of the main quest chain, orders can be dismissed freely, and you will probably end up doing so anyway for orders that are not profitable enough money-wise or simply too time-consuming to complete. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3625765791 The orders require a mix of basic crops and manufactured goods. While the crops take mere seconds (up to a couple of minutes) to grow, the latter often involve multi-step production chains, with each stage depending on a combination of several other resources. The production buildings start with a rather small queue of items but can be further expanded and eventually upgraded into automatic production, which can be turned on and off through a toggle button and which runs as long as you have the required ingredients. However, there's no way to automate a whole production chain, not even at the end of the game. Even when toggling the automatic production of a certain good, you will still need to manually do so for every node of the tree chain, which usually has several layers of depth. Trees and crops cannot be automated and must be watered manually. Since water is a resource that regenerates over time, and to some extent, slowly, it’s possible to run short when managing larger farms. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3625765603 The incremental design makes the game quietly addictive. It’s easy to tell yourself you’ll finish just one more order, or one more step toward completing it, only to realize hours have passed since you initially planned to quit the game. The UI already includes a generous set of quality-of-life features: buildings and trees can be moved freely, question marks in orders show which buildings are required to produce each item, harvesting and replanting are combined into a single action if you have a seed type selected, and the storage capacity is unlimited and centralized into a single barn, which also allows filtering resources by type. While the interface is generally very user-friendly, a few small tweaks could improve it one step further. For example, production buildings display the materials required to craft an item but not how many of that item you already own, and resource collecting could be allowed while you have menus (production buildings, shops, or orders) open. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3625765459 Overall, Sunset Sprout is a calming and wholesome farming experience. However, players looking for something akin to Stardew Valley should temper their expectations, as this is a very different game. There are no NPC interactions, no romance, no exploration, and little narrative beyond brief quest text. Although the game features seasons and weather, crops are unaffected by them, and seeds and buildings are always available for purchase; thus, there’s no calendar restriction mechanic. I mean this in the best way possible, this feels like a 2010s mobile game. It's both simple and super addicting. I got the game for free (thanks devs purrr) so I didn't actually check what the gameplay was about. The cover art sold me. I boot up the game and I'm like.. huh? Confused a bit because again, I didn't know anything about it other than it was a farming game. Another review said it well, its a clicker game. When I read that I was like... ohhhh yeah. Great way to describe it. I would say the game is a mix of idle / clicker. I REALLY like it. Like, a shocking amount. I haven't gotten too far into it but I'm curious to see if there is any sort of automation to the gameplay. It is fun doing the clicker / idle combo, but this game would be peak with some automation. This game reminds me of a full screen Rusty's Retirement (minus the automation (for now, maybe, idk i just said i aint know if its got it LOL)). I really enjoy just planting crops, clicking to collect them, collect water, collect wood, collect stone. It's a nice second monitor game when you want to do something but you don't exactly want to get INTO something, you know? The art is cute. I either had a glitch or not but there was no background music for me. Which was fine as I was watching Youtube as I played, but I always do enjoy hearing soundtracks. Another review did state that the game doesn't explain much to you and.. yeah. Unless im a dummy, it didn't explain very well. BUT! It was actually kinda fun figuring it out? I mean.. the game is pretty simple once you get into it. I do hate tutorials any way so.. all is well. The gameplay is a pretty simple loop. Grow crops, sell them to people who want them. Oh? Someone needs flour? Build the building to make flour. Keep selling things to these customers. Oh shoot. Now someone wants stone? I don't have stone. I need to buy a new building. I got stone now. I sell stone, crops, yeahh. The cycle continues. Great for people who enjoy progression in games and upgrading. Again, I haven't played far enough but I think automation in this game would be great. If they could have a way to gather our crops and supplies... purrrr heck yeah. Makes the brain feel gooood. Overall, I think it's a fun game! I can def see myself playing this again. I test quite a few games and usually its like for 10 minutes or so. If I can't get hooked by then, I tend to drop them for the foreseeable future. This game though? Y'all got almost 30 minutes out of me, bravo. follow my curator you know you want to ooooooo i post not very often but its so cute and tamagotchi themed ohhhhhh you love meeee you will fall in love and marry meeeeee https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45017147-Tama-Games/
This delightful gardening adventure lets you nurture magical plants under a setting sun 🌻🌅! Charming visuals, relaxing gameplay, and heartwarming growth mechanics make every session unforgettable. A must-play for cozy game fans! 🌻🌅✨
Who wouldn't want to have such a lifestyle? This is a cute game where we will develop our farming homestead on an island. There are many things to do here: we farm resources, build pens for animals, plant trees, and decorate our cozy corner. I adore such games, they bring a magical feeling of calm and satisfaction. It's so pleasant to come in after a hard working day and just chill in such a game.
Great cozy game loved chilling on stream while playing it!!! the dev even came and said hi to me what a great guy!!!! you could loose a whole day in this game if your not carefullll
