I was not patient enough to finish this game - the repetitive rhythm eventually got me tired - but I still recommend it! You do NOT have to "finish" to enjoy it, just hop in and relish in the weirdness. Pros: - Interesting writing - Gameplay is something new - Scary and cute Cons: - A bit much effort to get anywhere interesting - Art style could use a refresh

A single location in this game will have more creativity and writing talent put into it than many entire games i have played. This is one of the few story focused games where you are truely free to take whatever path you want. However this game is harsh, sometimes downright cruel, and before you get familiar with it you will probably feel like you are barely surviving and have no way of making progress, in that sense the sequel Sunless Skies is better, The actual gameplay is much easier to get the hang of, and in general more refined. If you can i recommend playing both games with Sunless Sea first, but if you are unable to adjust to the gameplay of sunless sea it is ok to skip to sunless skies, sunless skies takes place after seas but they aren't directly connected story wise. I also would highly recommend the DLC, i bought it thinking it would just add some contextual "Diving spots" where you could get new stories, but it has so much more, it adds a very sizeable ammount of content everywhere, the quest to unlock the Zubmarine can seem a bit bothersome, but it really isn't much, and you only have to do it once even if you die.
