Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Aug 10 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Basically just dredge but more fleshed out, if you are fine with reading and putting in some time, this game is most certainly for you. However the game is old, so you may have issues getting it to run for the first time, my issue was that I needed to clear steams cache.
I'm not one for unfair gameplay most of the time, and I find roguelites exhausting generally. But something about this game rubs me so right. The atmosphere and writing, the slow pace, the need to learn every island so you can navigate them just a bit better, get just that bit more loot, the slow slow pace of travelling between islands. The way you can defeat ennemies much stronger then you if you cheesily hang behind them. The strategy of planning out your next route! There's alot I just enjoy. I think this is the kind of game you need to find your rythm with and get to know, it has taken me so many years of playing it on and off, to finally enjoy it properly.

It would have worked better as interactive novella, than an actual game. The best parts are in the cumbersome screens of ambient text at port - they are well written, but so many they look like malware popups , just filing your screen. This is not a horror game, despite the motif and the horror meter in play... its a slow resource management game. Food and fuel weighed by all sorts of odd currency you must distribute; echoes, stories, some deal only in items, and things you would expect in a game about naval exploring and port hopping - cargo trade - seems to be discouraged. Your starting ship has no ability to carry freight, which seems weird when everyone is living in a world of dark ocean, huddled together for supplies and safety. No, most people seem quite only willing to trade or barter in select items. Sail around until you find the one or two ports who want what you have. The combat I knew was going to be clunky, it was OK.
it’s a nice game.
Great atmosphere, and a beautiful, haunting soundtrack. The stories it generates are pure cosmic horror.
It felt very bad to actualy buy and start a new game and out of the blue so many text (and so boring and full of nosense), mechanics with no tutorial, is like they expect you to start and know wtf you need to do, where to go, or what those 129381023812039 options/buttons do... no... why?? are other games before this one i needed to play or know before??? becasue i was sure this one was the 1st and the sunless skies is the 2nd. I dunno i just got it, why everything expect i know what im doing?.. this gotta be the worst 1st time game i ever played... so much i even try to refund it but since i bought it more than 2 weeks ago i couldnt. Frustrating, messy, slow, boring slog.
It is a very unique story-based game. The story itself is extremely creative and I highly recommend for those who like fantasy story-telling. Do not get if you do not enjoy reading. The only dislike about Sunless Sea is the death mechanic. With how much time it takes to go through the story and quests, dying can be extremely frustrating without the items gained much further along in the game. This being said, there is a manual save option that can be done in the ports which has helped tremendously in allowing me to enjoy the story and not have to worry about spending hours making up everything lost after a death.
Lost my mind. Ate my crew. Died. What more is there to say?
THE SUN THE SUN THE SUN THE SUN THE SUN THE SUN THE SUN THE SUN THE SUN THE SUN THE SUN...
