Sun Down is a roguelike survivors-type game with a twist. Between upgrading your abilities during and between runs, you can craft turrets, collect battle-ready pets, and buy store upgrades to survive hordes of enemies through four changing seasons.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A broken, unoptimized cash-grab hidden behind a massive grind wall
To be clear: I am not even a fan of Sun Haven. That game is already incredibly clunky and unpolished. However, the biggest difference is that Sun Haven actually has content to interact with. Sun Down, on the other hand, has barely any content at all. Instead, it hits you with a massive, artificial wall of currency grinding—and once you finally get past that grind, you realize there is absolutely nothing waiting for you on the other side. I’ve tested it thoroughly, and this game is a complete joke.
Abysmal Performance & Broken FPS Lock
The optimization here is completely non-existent. The game has an FPS lock feature in the settings, but it literally does not work. During quiet battles, Steam overlay shows me around 2,000 frames per second, which needlessly overheats and overloads my graphics card. Yet, in the endgame, the performance drops down to a miserable 6 FPS. How is anyone supposed to play like this? Sure, the game is cheap, but a low price tag is not an excuse to release such an unplayable, untested, and unbalanced mess.
Unfamiliar Characters
The game only features two familiar heroes from the original universe, while the other four are completely new. I didn't want to play as literal "no-names"; if I'm playing a spin-off, I want to see the characters I already know, not random strangers.
A Broken, Mindless Economy
The worst part of the game is its atrocious economy. Everything is unreasonably expensive, making progression feel like a chore rather than a reward. Upgrades cost a fortune but don't give you any noticeable boost to your damage or actions on the map. Crafting turrets and planting crops is shockingly expensive, making them completely pointless. Even worse, the game forces you to manually choose between gems or coins as rewards instead of giving you both. It’s just artificial padding that leads to endless, unnecessary clicks.
Bugs, Map Design & UI Annoyances
The map layout feels awkward and uncomfortable to navigate, and it is filled with bugs. I found at least two completely broken spots: one near the lake where the visual asset doesn't match the actual collider, and another near the trees where you get stuck behind an invisible wall. The dialogues become boring after reading them once, yet for some incomprehensible reason, you cannot skip them. You die long before you can even begin to have fun, and the 4 difficulty levels add absolutely nothing new.
Verdict
This is a very raw, unbalanced, and boring project. It offers nothing but stretched gameplay, useless clicking, and expensive upgrades that offer no real sense of progression. Don't waste your money on this lazy attempt at a quick profit.

Game started crashing around 9 hours into game. At 11 hours into the game it got to mid summer in year one and would crash to the point that it would not be playable. Sadly would not recommend to play until this issue is resolved.
The idea could be nice with the added resource gathering and farming could make it more unique than just another survivors game, though the execution is very low. The main issue is when you finally get the hang of things and know what to aim for, the game can crash if you pause it (by pressing ESC for example), because of "too many things happening on screen". The hitboxes are awful, you have mouse aim but it gets hard to see the cursor later on, most skills are pretty much useless since there are infinite upgrades that you can get twice a minute which work with specific spells. There is no reroll whatsover, no saving during a round, so if you crash you get nothing, progression is slow and not too intuitive, since buying meta upgrades between runs don't give you the bonus automatically, only when you take it on the first time during the run and the RNG is just bad.
After starting the game, I can't even leave the house at all. Now apparently the devs have abandoned this game. Very disappointed.
Ya bir spinoff nasıl bu kadar kötü olabilir. Amk sun haven a aşıktım yeminle parama yazık oldu ama bu oyunun 1 artısı var Darius olabiliyorum
So this game kept locking up on me while playing and was starting to make it unplayable but this was after I got good enough to make it partway through the season around 2 hours in so it was too late to return. I will note that there is no fps limiter so it will try to generate a very high fps 500-1000+ which might be apart of the issue. PLEASE add a limiter.
This is a really hard one, truth be told if the option was there I'd much rather give a neutral recommendation. Because honestly this isn't going to place as a truly spectacular game any time soon, but it's not priced like it's one either. If you love survivor games and just need a new one to play then you could do a lot worse for the price of this game. It's far from perfect but the flaws are by and large the result of the scale and nature of its production so I wouldn't hold it as much against it.
I would recommend the game, but I'm definitely going to tear into what some major, anger inducing flaws are. +Good spread of abilities, towers, plenty to upgrade into. This includes buying on the menu, mid-run upgrades and abilities, turrets, etc. -TOO MANY mid-run upgrades that seem to be worth jack-all. 80% of my runs are getting worthless upgrades that do little to actually help with the core mechanic of killing enemies. If you don't get an ability that actually beefs up your attack/don't get offered a good spread of damaging attacks, you ain't getting very far. +The games 'economy' makes for an interesting way to play a Survivor-like game, in that way that level ups aren't the only way to accrue upgrades -The games 'economy' doesn't lend well to trying to establish a multifaceted playstyle unless you're having a god-level run. Trees, rocks and ores take a while to respawn, which is fair, but chances are unless you're having a god-level run, you're going to die trying to attain more of these materials in any kind of timeframe that matters. +/- When you start a run, you prettymuch have to decide what you're going to be gunning for turret/upgrade wise, and stick to it. Harvest speed is a 100% must have, and some way to make money is a 100% must have. I find this both good and bad because on onehand it allows for unique and altered playstyles depending on a run, but on the other you prettymuch always feel underpowered and outgunned if you choose a path, then begin to get absolutely no upgrades for it. This means harvest speed upgrades and ways to earn more cash(<this especially) should almost ALWAYS dominate your game, because these two principles can make a terrible run into a somewhat bearable one. Bear in mind, for this kind of game, I dont have all the upgrades done, so i'm not at max strength to start runs, dont have everything unlocked, etc. I enjoy the game, it has a complexity to it that you dont see in a lot of survivor-esque games, but that being said, that also makes for the games biggest weakness, because the level of complexity practically forces the player to branch into multiple methods of defense/attaining upgrades, while the core upgrade system seems to be on this level of '80% of runs you do you are going to repeatedly get offered upgrades that do not chain well, and thus your ass shall be kicked'. It straddles a very fine line between fun and frustrating, because it's fairly quick to do a round, so it's not like you're wasting a ton of time, but it also falls into that category of a seeming 'every 4-5th run you'll /actually/ get a tight spread of skills that you /actually/ want to focus on, and finally be able to accrue a decent level of out-of-run upgrade points to make the next run easier. So yeah, i'd recommend it, but also be prepared for a level of frustration that, at least I, havent really experienced with other 'survivor' games.
great game ruined by performances issues.
