Summon My Girl, developed by ReaX pts and published by ReaX Games, is a casual puzzle title that blends simple gameplay with a progression system centered on character collection. It positions itself as an easy-to-play experience where the primary appeal comes not from complex mechanics, but from a steady loop of completing puzzles and unlocking new rewards. The design is clearly aimed at players who enjoy light, repetitive gameplay paired with visual incentives and gradual progression. The core gameplay revolves around a hexagonal puzzle system in which players must correctly place pieces to complete each stage. The mechanics are straightforward and require little time to understand, making the game accessible even for those unfamiliar with puzzle games. Each completed level rewards players with a currency that feeds directly into the progression system, creating a consistent rhythm of play. While the puzzles are functional and occasionally engaging, they do not evolve significantly, and the level of challenge remains relatively stable throughout the experience. Progression is driven largely by a summoning system that introduces new characters through randomized draws. This element adds a layer of anticipation, as players collect resources from puzzles and then use them to unlock new additions to their collection. The inclusion of features such as galleries and unlockable scenes reinforces this loop, giving players tangible rewards for their efforts. However, this also highlights where the game places its emphasis, as the sense of advancement is tied more to collecting content than to mastering the gameplay itself. Visually, the game adopts an anime-inspired style with a focus on stylized character designs. This presentation plays a significant role in maintaining player interest, particularly for those who appreciate this aesthetic. The artwork is clearly intended to serve as a primary incentive for progression, and it succeeds within that context. However, for players who are less invested in this aspect, the visuals may not be enough to offset the repetitive nature of the gameplay. The pacing of Summon My Girl is designed for short sessions, with quick levels that can be completed in a matter of minutes. This makes it easy to return to the game in brief intervals, but it also means that the experience can become repetitive over time. Because the puzzle mechanics remain largely unchanged and the progression system follows a predictable pattern, there is little variation to sustain long-term engagement. The connection between gameplay and rewards is clear, but it lacks the depth needed to create a more compelling experience. One of the more noticeable limitations is how loosely the game’s systems are connected. The puzzle component serves primarily as a means to generate resources, while the summoning system acts as the main source of reward. These elements function effectively on their own but do not interact in ways that deepen the overall experience. As a result, the game can feel segmented, with each part existing alongside the others rather than forming a cohesive whole. Despite these shortcomings, the game fulfills its intended purpose as a lightweight and accessible title. It offers a simple gameplay loop that can be enjoyed without much effort, making it suitable for players looking for a casual diversion. Its structure is easy to follow, and the steady flow of rewards provides enough motivation to continue, at least for a while. In the end, Summon My Girl is a niche experience that prioritizes accessibility and visual rewards over mechanical depth. It provides a brief and straightforward form of entertainment that works best in short bursts, particularly for players who enjoy collectible progression systems. While it lacks the variety and complexity needed to stand out more broadly, it succeeds in delivering a focused and easy-to-engage experience within its limited scope. Rating: 6/10
It's a hexagonal tile jigsaw game, interspersed with gaining hearts to unlock pictures (the 'summon' aspect of the game). For less than £1 it's a nice little puzzle game, but no replay value. The art is fine, but not special. It feels like there could have been more to the game. There are scenarios which imply something more but don't lead anywhere. For the price it's acceptably pleasant as a puzzler.
