Suika Shapes

I've not played a Suika game before but I guess I really like the gameplay now. Quite a good puzzle game that rewards future thinking and strategy. Instead of just circles, you get a very large amount of shapes to drop. This on top of the multiple game modes and modifers gives this game a sizable amount of content. You get multiple boards and can change the rules of what happens when shapes combine or play with multiple shapes at once. This game would be good if you want to challenge yourself because there are a LOT of achievements revolving around getting 3000 points while playing with every shape type. It's quite the difficult task and It's fulfilling when you're able to earn one. There is also multiplayer, whether you want to play local or online. There are multiple game modes that you can work together on or verse. There is a matchmaking feature but I guess not a lot of people play the game because I have not been able to find a match with it. Still cool to look at the leadertboards and see how well you did against other players though. I also quite like the aesthetics of the game, the faces of the shapes are charming. The singular music track is good but the flute does hurt my ears just a bit. Still a catchy tune though, I just don't recommend playing with headphones if it bothers you. This is really just a game I use to chill and I recommend it if you ever want to kill some time. Maybe you'll play it casually or get addicted to it like I was for a while.

If you have missed Suika game craze, basically the game loop is that you drop balls to the playing area. Same sized ones combine into bigger ones. Throw in little bit of physics and that's mostly it. Suika Shapes takes the concept and adds lot of stuff, which make the 5€ price worth it (there are free Suika games out there). For starters, there are different shapes that affect the behavior. The classic balls roll, triangles slide and tetrominoes stack. There are few other shapes, but they roughly fall into those categories. If you're indecisive, you can play with random shapes, which can get quite chaotic. If gets boring there are two more game modes. Tilting and rising floor. Former is bit of balancing act and latter reduces the time to think. There are even more variants to the rules, but you can read about those in the store page. Icing on the cake is weekly competition with varying rules and multiplayer (which I haven't tried). Good fun for quite a while.

one of the best suika game clones on steam. you can play with different shapes and maps to shake up your experience. online and local multiplayer included! well worth the 5$

This is the 2nd best Suikalike, just behind the Touhou one with the actual Suika in it.
