Fast-paced multiplayer space combat inspired by the classic Subspace. Pick from 16 distinct ships, loot rare equipment, earn bounty in dogfights, and explore a jump-gate-linked galaxy with your squad. No pay-to-win, ever.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.
About
Subspace: Redux is a spiritual successor to the classic multiplayer dogfighting of
Subspace/Continuum — rebuilt from the ground up with zero server costs and zero
subscriptions. Every match runs peer-to-peer over Steam. No dedicated servers to shut down,
no live-service sunset. Buy it once, play it forever.
Choose from 16 distinct hulls, each a genuine sidegrade — not a stat upgrade. Warbird,
Javelin, Spider, and five more are free from the start. Eight premium ships, ranging from
Rare to Singularity rarity, add new handling and weapon characteristics to master, never a
raw power advantage over free pilots.
Premium is cosmetic and sidegrade only — this is not a pay-to-win game.
Loot, Bounty, and a Galaxy Worth Exploring
Rarity-tiered loot upgrades eight independent ship systems — guns, bombs, mines,
engines, thrusters, armour, shields, and reactor — from Common all the way to Singularity.
Earn Bounty in combat and track your progress toward over 160 Steam achievements.
Travel a quadrant-linked galaxy through jump gates, from safe zones to contested
territory.
Form a squad of up to five pilots and take on the frontier together.
Steam handles matchmaking presence, achievements, and friend invites — there's no separate
account, no launcher, no always-online requirement beyond Steam itself. Your progress, your
ships, your galaxy.

I was deeply moved when I saw this on steam. Been looking for a spiritual successor to Subspace Continuum for a long time. Though in it's current shape I can not recommend this to anyone. 1. The ESC button should ALWAYS be the default button to ESCAPE a game. This means I press Escape, it either immediately closes the game or I get a menu to Logout from. Had to mash buttons to find out what the Logout button was. Noone in their right mind will think that "8" is how you exit the game. 2. The game is filled with too much decision making bloat before I can actually play. Some depth and customization is nice, but only after I learned about the game. else I have no idea wtf I am doing. Having to choose a faction, a playstyle, then distribute attributes and change ship settings was overload. Subspace was good because it was simple to jump in and out of. Pick ship + Pick server = play 3. Ship collision is quite a risky design choice. To me it would ruin the essence of Basefights as I could not properly attach to other players and move through tight corridors as a team without creating a logistical nightmare (which kills fun). 4. Game won't even let me into the game (could get into practice tho) as it says "Could not join: Steam could not confirm your login. Try again". And I tried again numerous times. These are all the things that immediately got my attention. Would love to recommend, but this game is in a very messy state rn that I really can't.
