Subliminal is a psychological horror game inspired by the urban legend of The Backrooms. Bleeding edge lighting and rendering, handcrafted open-ended levels, light and perspective-based puzzles, nostalgic spaces, unfamiliar faces, and a rotting feeling that something is not quite right.

About

Light shapes the world around you. Bending shadows, opening doors... the world is yours to discover.
Light isn't just how you see, it's how you survive. In Subliminal, illumination is a physical material that is yours to grasp, carry, and bend to your will to alter the space you find yourself occupying. You'll grab fixtures from ceilings, cast light to open doors, and reveal pathways that seem impossible to reach.
You are not given answers in Subliminal; you are given choices. Puzzles revolve around manipulating perspective and lighting. Change an area's lighting, and the entire space might change. Place a light too far, and you may have to start from the beginning. Everything you move and every shadow you create changes what is, and isn't, real.

The more you remember, the more it remembers you.
Somewhere beneath the surface of your memories, something is waiting. At first, you'll sense it behind walls and around corners, or hear the faint sounds of breathing when you stand still. Later, you'll see it, a figure that shouldn't exist, chasing you through decaying hallways and down endless slides. That thing... it's not human.
Encounters in Subliminal are psychologically terrifying events born within your own consciousness. Things sense your movements and hesitation. Fumble with a puzzle too slowly when it matters most, and you may feel the weight of the world closing in on you.

Do you remember?
Every space you enter in Subliminal is a fragment of a memory. Discover the secrets of basements, water parks, play places, and more, all rendered in meticulous detail in Unreal Engine 5's Lumen lighting and Nanite geometry. Nothing is quite right. Slides lead to places they shouldn't, TV screens transport you between memories, and doors loop back to the same room you started from.
Each location tells a part of your story. As you explore, the environment becomes puzzling and less stable. You may see things that do not exist, hear sounds that are not really there, and feel things that make the hairs of your neck stand up. What begins as an exploration soon turns into a violent confrontation with your own fading sense of self.

Reviews
Since I really enjoyed the "predecessor" Superliminal, so I was really looking forward to this game. I enjoy the concept of this game, which is slightly different from the previous one, and the vastly improved graphics and general atmoshphere are excellent. However, there is one aspect of the gameplay that makes it very difficult for me to give a fully positive review and recommendation: *MILD SPOILERS AHEAD* While this is game is mostly a "puzzle" type game (which I enjoy), there are certain "athletic tasks" that you need to complete to advance. And those are in my opinion often too hard and quite frankly very frustrating. Furthermore, having unsuccessfully tried and repeatedly failed at such an "athletic" task, and having quit the game out of frustration, there isn't even a convenient save spot right before such a task. No, when you load the game again to give it another go, you have to spend considerable amount of time re-playing the bits before the "athletic" part. This reduces the motivation to go and try again considerably, which is a real shame.

这个氛围和压迫感不错,旁白挺可爱的,期待后续剧情
great game, loved every aspect of it!
Look, some people are saying this game sucks, but what the hell are you even talking about? The dev team did an incredible job. They cooked so hard that during my 4 hour playtime, my room literally smelled like a burnt toaster because my ancient Intel Core i7 2600 was fighting for its absolute life trying to render these graphics. I thought my PC was going to explode and take my entire neighborhood with it. People are only spamming bad reviews because they are literal iPad kids who just learned how to walk and barely even know how to type yet. The puzzles were awesome, but these toddlers are out here crying because they can't solve a puzzle without a flashing subway surfers video playing at the bottom of the screen. They are literally writing reviews like "OH MY GOD DA HELL DIS GAME SUCK BECAUSE MY MULTIVERSE SIZED DADDY CASEOH SAID THESE PUZZLES ARE TOO HARD ME BUY DIS GAME JUST TO WRITE A BAD REVIEW" while typing with grease on their fingers from eating dry ramen noodles. Ignore the absolute brainrot in the review section. If you have a functioning brain and want a great liminal horror game with actual puzzles, buy it. Just make sure your fire extinguisher is nearby if you run an old CPU like me.

Subliminal has a great atmosphere, but the confusing level design and repetitive puzzles make it more frustrating than fun. The horror doesn't really start until the end, which makes the rest of the game feel like a drag.

pretty nice game and puzzles
I Love The Geam
I really liked the story and the concept of Lily, and how certain parts were kept scary by having the narrator leave. Overall I thought it was really well done and will be playing this when episode 2 comes out. YAY!
