Well, Stupid Cars lets you do just that, but with a twist—you’re actually supposed to help them. These drivers are as clueless as they come, and your job as the all-knowing backseat driver is to keep them from crashing. The game looks deceptively simple but cranks up the chaos quickly. Whether you're a casual gamer just trying to kill some time or a perfectionist gunning for leaderboard glory, this game will have you yelling, “Just one more go!”… until your hand cramps up.
About This Game

Storyline
There’s not much of a storyline here—it's more of a concept than a plot. You’re thrown into the chaos of managing these brainless drivers, guiding their vehicles through an endless loop of traffic. The goal? Make sure as many of these dimwits get to their destination safely without causing a massive pileup. It’s not about saving the world or unravelling a mystery; it’s about surviving the madness of traffic control, one tap at a time. No deep narrative here, but the sheer panic makes up for it.
Gameplay Mechanics
The controls are simple—deceptively so. You tap on a car once to speed it up and tap again to slow it down. That’s it. But don’t let the simplicity fool you; there’s a wild, chaotic beast lurking beneath this straightforward mechanic. You start with a single car, but as more vehicles flood the screen, tunnels start spitting out cars from seemingly every direction. You’ve got to manage speed, avoid collisions, and keep track of which tunnel is launching the next vehicle. Things get spicy when Turbo and Overtake modes come into play. Turbo boosts your points and speed, while Overtake gives you risky bonus points when one car overtakes another. But don’t think you can just sit back and relax—any wrong move, and it’s a fiery explosion. If two crashes happen, game over. Oh, and here’s the catch: the cars don’t actually stop. Ever. So you’re balancing between tapping frantically and hoping the traffic gods are kind to you. There are also gold cars that offer extra points if you drive dangerously close to other vehicles—a tempting but risky move for the adrenaline junkies.
Visuals and Audios
The game’s got this whole candy-coated, soft cartoon vibe going on, and it totally works. The bright, pastel colours and cute little car designs make the whole thing feel less like a traffic jam and more like you’re managing bumper cars at a carnival. Everything’s polished and smooth, with some charming animations thrown in to keep things lighthearted (well, until you crash). The soundtrack? Catchy, but in that “I’m going to be humming this at 2 a.m.” kind of way. It complements the game’s frantic energy perfectly, giving you just enough of a boost to get you through each chaotic round.
Pros

Simple but Addictive: It’s a classic “easy to learn, hard to master” situation. The basic tap mechanic is quick to pick up, but surviving those later levels takes skill, timing, and maybe a bit of luck.
Cute Visuals: The soft, cartoon art style is pleasant to look at, even when the cars are about to smash into each other.
Challenging Levels: The difficulty ramps up in a way that keeps you on your toes, with new vehicles like bikes and trains adding variety.
Leaderboards & Achievements: For the competitive types, the leaderboards and achievements give you something to grind for beyond just surviving.
Turbo and Overtake Modes: If you love risk, these modes give you a serious thrill (and extra points) without adding unnecessary complexity.

Cons

Stressful as Heck: What starts out as a relaxing traffic control game quickly spirals into a fast-paced, anxiety-inducing experience. Not for the faint-hearted or anyone looking for zen vibes.
Repetitive Mechanics: While it’s fun to play in short bursts, the core tap-to-speed-up, tap-to-slow-down mechanic can start feeling repetitive after a while.

Conclusion
Stupid Cars is one of those games that pulls you in with its simplicity and keeps you hooked with its nail-biting intensity. It’s perfect for those moments when you’re in the mood for something quick and chaotic. The cute visuals and catchy soundtrack make the stress a little more bearable, but make no mistake—this game gets hectic fast. While the repetitive nature of the gameplay might not appeal to everyone, the addictive "one more go" feeling is real, and the challenge will definitely keep you coming back for more. So, if you’re ready to test your traffic management skills and don’t mind a few (or a lot) of crashes along the way, Stupid Cars is worth a spin. Just don’t be surprised if you find yourself talking to these dumb drivers like they can actually hear you. Rating: 9/10 Ngl, I am dumb when I drive too.

The game uses Steam's score leaderboard feature to host and keep track of scores of the 6 locations; this is good because the point of having this game is best other people's scores, and having would risk the game being more unattractive for those wanting to compete if there's a leaderboard that's not hosted on Steam on the off-chance it would disappear.
The water fountain gushing water for when a vehicle successfully reaches the end of the road without any vehicle collision in the location 'Classic' is a nice touch; wishing the same would happen in the 5 other locations.

MY NEGATIVES

Despite turning off anti-aliasing and post-processing options in the settings menu to improve and stabilize performance of the game, the following locations had some lag or framepacing issues that affected my performance enough during playing the game, 'Bus Rush' having the second worst relatively, and 'Loopy Lanes' being the worst relatively, while the rest of the locations have little to no framepacing issues; while I could play this on my gaming laptop, I would've thought my main computer would've handle it fine without problems.
There's no 'turbo mode only' leaderboards; it would be interesting to have a separate mode where turbo mode cannot be turned off and is in a separate leaderboard to reflect that.
There's no additional achievements on getting certain scores in certain locations; currently, because there's only just score X amount of points and there's no specific location requirement, it would be easy to just pick a location that is the comfortable to play or the easiest, now imagine if the locations 'Bike Frenzy' has an achievement of having to score 500 points only in that location.

MY EEHS/NEUTRAL FEELINGS

The amount of score earned is somewhat influenced by luck due to random gold vehicles during sessions that give double points if they exit without colliding with another vehicle, and medals earned by completing Steam achievements that increase the chance of additional points for each vehicle exiting successfully; I'm not too bothered by it, since this is a more casual-focused type of video game, but it would really be neat if the game doesn't really have those kinds of things influencing the amount of score earned during sessions, with the only luck and chance determined by the pattern of the vehicles which is mixed with skill on having to manage the madness of those endless vehicles to guide to the end of the road.
The vehicles drive on the left side of the road instead of the right side of the road; not a bad thing, just more of a curious observation.
Stupid Cars is a pretty nice endless game to play through, as I first got overwhelmed with the amount of vehicles to manage as I tried to unlock all the locations, then as I get more score points and finish other achievements to try and get the other medals, a mix of impatience and greediness got the better of me as I sped up vehicles and mistimed it, resulting in vehicle collisions. It felt pretty good learning the layouts of the locations over time and having intuition when to know when to chance it and when to stay safe, which is the point of a score attack game to improve, which gradually turns them into endurance runs on substaining the amount of effort without breaking. Researching briefly on the game, Stupid Cars was also released on iOS, which looking at version history, was released on 2020 April 15. Then there's the Android version which while doesn't have a release date shown, is I assume released some time after, and then recently on Meta Quest on 2025 January 09, of which there's virtual reality capabilities, which isn't present in the Steam version through an update or as a separate game. It's nice to see the developer of this game still alive at this time putting out the game on various platforms. Overall recommend getting the game if wanting a quick bite-sized replayable game, and wanting to see more mobile games be on Steam without having to deal with advertisements, as I didn't expect to get sucked into playing this strongly by this simple premise with risk and reward on managing the vehicles to their safety. I have a feeling that long term, after getting the final Steam achievement being 'Score 500' in the first location, I would want to come back and try to get 500 points in the other locations.
Casual and often stressful game where you tap on cars. Gameplay is suitable for everyone. All you need to do is tap once on a car to speed it up, or tap on it again to slow it down. I would prefer to use right mouse button to slow down, but it’s fine. The goal is to keep going for as long as you can without an accident. A single crash is acceptable because you have another chance. However, if you crash a second time, the game ends and you must restart. Each stage features many tunnels from which car may emerge. To prevent surprises, a glowing arrow indicates the tunnel with the next car. A point is awarded when a car safely navigates traffic and vanishes into a tunnel. If you earn enough points, you will be able to advance to the next stage. There are six of them, and each introduces a new vehicle, such as bikes or trains. Because some vehicles are part of the scene and cannot be tapped on, the scenarios become far more challenging. Extra points are awarded for gold cars and dangerous driving. Close calls occur when cars pass very close together, while overtaking occurs when a faster car overtakes the slower car in front of it. Cars do not collide from behind and will always attempt to overtake, but it is risky because another car may appear on the other lane. The fourth option is turbo mode, which increases speed and points but requires a few minutes of gameplay to unlock.
So addictive
