Gameplay
It's black jack. You know black jack? 'cus I don't. But it's not too hard to learn the basics. You place your bet, and then both players are dealt a two card hand. Each card represents a number, and the player with the highest number wins. However, if your number goes over twenty-one, you automatically lose and forfeit your bet. Alternatively, if anyone gets exactly twenty-one, they automatically win. You can choose to "hit" at anytime, gaining a card (and hopefully not going over twenty-one). Or, you can "stand" and wait for your opponent to do the same. When both players stand, they reveal their hands and a winner is chosen. There's more rules to Black Jack than that, but that's the gist of 'em. If you know the basics, you shouldn't have any problem playing this game. Now, the idea is to win boatloads of money and buy the clothes off of a father's daughter. She's a bit of nympho, so when her clothes go bye-bye, she can't help but pleasure herself.
Story
Some old man (who I'll name Gramps) was playin' Black Jack with his neighbor, some shady kid (who I'll name Shadester). Shadester ran Gramps utterly dry, and he hasn't a penny to his name. The neighbor has his eye on Gramps' daughter, and Gramps decides to pimp her out to get his money back. She's all too desperate to drop her panties, so she agrees and they all partake in the finest of strip Black Jack.
Visuals
I enjoyed the interface, and I didn't see anything out of place. I would have liked to have seen more adjustable settings, such as adjustable audio or resolution levels. The in-game assets look a lot like Daz 3D models, which some may find off-putting. I personally enjoy Daz models, but there appeared to be a lot of clashing styles. Between each character, they seemed like they were made by different artists, or rendered using differently styled presets. Otherwise, the renders were high quality, and I didn't see very many visual artifacts. - The Goods - There's a bunch o' static CGs and a few animated 'uns. They all look great, animations included. I found the animations to be a bit cartoony, but I thought they were serviceable. Unfortunately, the animations are stuck inside some awful interface, and they cannot be fullscreened. The remainder of the CGs can only be viewed in-game, and there is no gallery to view them in (independent from the game's UI). Expect solo female and male-on-female sexual intercourse.
Verdict
If you like Black Jack (and tedious button mashing), this is an inexpensive solution. This is a fun time killer, when the RNG gods look upon you with favor. Say your prayers. If you like my reviews, it helps a lot! Thank you!
Strip Black Jack - Manga Edition is a game centered around classic twenty-one blackjack. As a side note to the title, luckily you do not strip Jack Black. Now, there is an opening few bits of story to get you familiar with what the premise is, which is nice. It’s not a pure visual novel, but rather, more like a gambling game to gain money to purchase things that change how the game is presented, as well as moving the story and achievements along. The plot begins with you winning against the girl in the game’s father, and he offers to play for pieces of his daughter’s clothing when he realizes you have taken a liking to her already. He wants to get his money back at any cost, I suppose, or maybe she’s just that type already. Does not get specific there. She’s sort of apprehensive at first, but then realizes it could be quite fun, so she goes along with the idea. The idea is nice, and the animation is a pleasure to look at. I wish there was a little bit more variety besides the one gal, but the story kind of revolves around that basis. It’s pretty fun and fairly simplistic. My idea is either betting half and doubling on good hands, or betting all and just taking a chance, regardless. You’ll lose a lot, but there’s a wheel you will get quite familiar with. When it gives you a high “starting” amount, that’s when you want to go big on the betting. It took me three or four times to get the 100k total achievement, so it is a bit tedious, but gathering the money to get the other bits isn’t too bad overall. There are eight total achievements dealing with the “stages” for the girl your character is infatuated with. The ninth is broken. EDIT: Achievement is now fixed through an update. [strike] Either it needs to be added, or they should remove it from Steam in case people who are completionists wish to fulfill said role and get all of them to 100%.[/strike]
Pros
It’s cute, presented well, and the card play is fun, though a bit unfair! I like the art done on the girl you can mess with. There are four poses per level of clothing removed. You get spins from a wheel, so you can never truly lose; if you are persistent, you can get all the achievements. Everything works fairly well in the game. I like the plot, subject matter, and the overall idea here. It’s a nice building block for hopefully something more grand down the road with it. It could use more content all around. More items to buy and tinker with, more women, or maybe more modes and styles of play, or changes in appearances and whatnot. Just a bit more customization overall. You can click the girl who is on the right, and change her poses as you please while you play the game, though I already touched on that to an extent.
Cons
[strike]One achievement is impossible to get. This is a game-breaker for me until it is fixed. Waiting for an update of either removing the impossible one, or adding content to fix it.[/strike] It’s a bit unfair as far as how many times the guy you play against gets better hands than you do. I don’t know if it’s just me, or if he does just have better chances to beat you, overall. The language needs a few small fixes. I sent some suggestions to the developer though, so I hope they will update it soon. EDIT:Not fixed in recent update. Here's hoping! Game froze on me after viewing videos for some reason. Doesn’t seem to want to work right. EDITSeems fixed for me after watching newest video in update, but it cycles on "locked", where you have to pay to get it again, but your money returns, so it's in a sort of loop for now. If I click the menu while playing, the song will duplicate, and continue making more copies that will overlap if I continue to do so, which is rather frustrating and annoying to me. For the 100k achievement, you must have it all at once, so this was a bit rough for me to obtain. I didn’t enjoy the grind needed for this when I had everything else up to this point finished. There aren’t any real good definitive rules for how to play if you don’t know the game at all really. I would like to see a tutorial, or some kind of tooltip if you hover over stuff you may not know about unless you are familiar with the game.
Conclusion
If you like blackjack and nudity, this is a good one to have. It’s pretty low in price too, though it’s fairly simplistic in its current state and build. I'm updating this to positive now since the final achievement is obtainable in the game. I felt like a non-obtainable achievement was game-breaking, personally, but I am changing this to positive, since it's fixed achievement-wise, though as mentioned, a bit rough around the edges. If you just like nice views, this one’s pretty alright though. I think you’d enjoy it for that alone. Most of it is nicely done up to this point. Hoping for more content, and a steady improvement if they roll out more games in the future!
Where are the videos? We were promised interactive videos, not a black screen. Not even worth the two bucks I spent on this censored lie. I feel foolish, angry and ripped off. Whoever made this censored deception should be ashamed.
This game reminds me of why I don't gamble ever. On the surface it seems like a fun game but it appears that the house is stacked to win as every time I've made it above $3000 I get crushed the next 4 out of 5 hands. If I try to play it safe and stop at 16/17/18 the house almost always goes to 18 or above, seldom does it go over. Several time I'll get hand of 16/17/18 and the house will somehow go to 19/20/21. Also so far 9/10 times it asks if I want to buy insurance the house has a blackjack waiting, this happened 5+ times in my current playtime of 23 minutes... Overall I had more fun being beat into the ground on Dark Souls than playing this game. Edit: Appears to have been patched at some point and become less grindy, no longer am I losing 4/5 hands. Might be worth picking up on sale.
The game is bugged. The unlockable videos show blank screen and can't complete achievement because it asks for beating 9 levels but there's only 8. Edit: They added the 9th level, but the videos still don't work.
it's shocking how many time one can draw a 16 in this game, and the dealer gets will get an 19 or 21
not that's it's the only black jack game to play on steam as I think, but it's frusturating like 100 times out of 101
I like this game but cant win.it is stuck at 316....what is the problem??? if i lose it goes back to 316 or if i win it stays at 316...
literally ever hand the AI has with a face card and either a 6 or a 5, they get a 5 or a 6 as the third card for a 21. not saying the AI is getting an assist, but if this where Vegas, i'd move to a different table. in over 100 hands, the dealer hasn't busted once. uncanny lucky.
If you want a manga Blackjack simulator where you get to play a fully clothed Albert Einstein this is the game. I don't and it isn't.
