«Story of You: The Allied Kingdoms»
The idea or the aesthetic of this game is interesting but in practice it leaves something to be desired. The goal of the game is very wishy washy to begin with and most renditions you go through will have you not finding out why your hand has a rune on it. I finished a single playthrough in roughly 15 minutes. Each choice is very brief with only two to three paragraphs (small ones) to describe what happens to your character. Then you must choose from two more options that are briefly described. You have no context for what will actually happen there. There aren't any consequences to these choices either except the big one which is: will this help me find out why I have this dang mark on my hand? (Answer: probably not. You have no way to discern if it will or not.) These stories are disjointed and not very interesting, unfortunately. You see brief glimpses of the world but you don't really get to participate and ultimately the world seems very lifeless while tossing you around from point A to point B with nothing to really connect these stories. It's cheap as hell which should make it worth the purchase but it isn't really. For 2.99 you can buy a fairly decent choose your own adventure game that can give you more replayability and more meaningful choices and more interesting ideas.
game was fun and i did love the story but the light green text was hard to look at. maybe make an option that lets you pick different colors? did love the game!
Nice game. Good story and fun.
The story is very entertaining, it makes you immerse into it. Art is very good, some of the best pixel art I've seen. Music is also amazing, helps a lot with the immersion. For if you're into this type of games this is hidden gem worth every penny
I have installed the game mainly because of the pixel art graphics. An enjoyable visual novel with great retro style graphics that comes with nice music and ambient sounds. Graphics and music (not the gameplay) reminds me a bit of ancient games like Defender of the Crown. Designed for several playthroughs, good for one evening.
