I'll try to make my points simpler than full on paragraphs: - The balance decisions favors very unhealthy implementation of mechanics. - The numbers pertaining to how damage and healing and other factors works between characters is so oddly inconsistent and gives you no grasp on the game's direction. Numbers oddly overtuned in various areas that there's no real cohesion all together. - Crowd Control and Burst Damage Slop. Leads to such poorly paced fights and matches that start to quickly feel unsatisfying, but of course on the receiving end. The lack of counterplay just being unintuitive positioning to stop situations is just absurd. And literally EVERYONE complains about it in some shape or form. The game feels innately toxic at base and not just because of a select few characters. - The playerbase's egotism and esports larping already had a lot of people leave day 1. In fact it's basically assumed that if you're still playing for Day 4, you basically already are average at Mobas. And yes the community is toxic enough to target their attention at you on some very weird narc behavior, usually in livestreams. - Coinciding with the last point, players larp having immense game sense and understanding to where there's no real point of discussion from what I have seen thus far. - No relevant community content to keep anything glued together. Just crap posting in Discords and livestream gathers. - Obsession with Stat Padding and no understanding of situations happening in game leading to team losses. Lack of communication. (These community points I literally have to note because the the game is too freaking small to be acting this poor of fashion. It takes 5 to 10 minutes to queue on average and it's always the same 9-12 people on rotation outside of day 1. For there to be cohesive way every approaches the game despite a lot of people being year 1s, it's just ridiculous and weirdly gatekeeps anyone trying to learn whatsoever. This is something that plagues a lot of smaller games, not even specific to Storm Striker.). - Game severely lacks the ability to play with any baseline intuition. - Objective timer resetting if everyone is off it seems cool on paper but nobody plays in enough objective focus so one dude sits on it. - The amount of lack QoL pertaining to just information is pretty insane. I am basically taking off no points for bugs because what else can I expect from a small game. They're usually the least of my problems compared to the actual health of the gameplay loop and community interaction itself. The average person basically will have had their fill after a few hours of this game. They would have been better off optimizing the ai for the game so the more casual audience can at least indulge that. About hours 20 in and I think it's worth uninstalling. Actually fated to die unless there's crazy changes in the shortest time span possible as well as community cleanup. Overall, it gets a "I miss playing Overwatch"/10
