Peak Microids. Make Still Life 3 pleasssssseeee Modern point and clicks are boring, I play this one every couple of years and love it so much. Nobody dares to be violent and f** up anymore.
Good atmosphere of foggy 1920s Prague and 2004 wintery Chicago - great settings for noir mystery. Great art direction, both of the game itself and in-game macabre art. A couple of puzzles are pure pain though (cookies and lockpick) - so don't be ashamed to look up solutions for those. And the game ends on a cliffhanger, but considering the price it goes on sale, definitely check it out if you're into point and click games.
Has the soul of a 90s thriller film
Still holds up, even with some of the corny dialog. Some of the puzzles are just way to out there for me but the story and artistic style is just top notch. Highly recommend it for point and click adventure fans.
I love this game, I've loved this game ever since I played it way back in like the early 2000's when the game came out. But some of the puzzles are frustrating to no end. That lock picking puzzle being one of them among others. Hell, the only way I got through the lock picking puzzle was a step by step puzzle by a youtuber. But never less this is still one of my fave old games. But let's be honest the puzzles do take away from the game... Ain't gonna stop me from finishing this game and playing it again in the future but yeah, welcome to my little ramble.
I had a very hard time playing this game, the story was fine, but I had a game breaking bug show up often while I played. The characters would not move from one scene to the next, its like they would get stuck or hit a wall. While I was able to find a work around, it was still very annoying to deal with.
I don't just dislike this game. I *hate* it. I can overlook the awkward cinematics and the primitive early 00's animations, but it's almost like a cruelty to subject the player to the careful pushing of the elevator button and then subjecting them to waiting along with the MC to get to your floor *every* time you need to access a different office floor. Even being able to jog makes moving from screen to screen a chore. The story drags, too. I was determined to finish it anyway despite this list because I bought this title ages ago and wanted to check the box that I'd completed it. But I finally hit my limit with the lockpicking puzzle. I moved it to my "do not like" list since I'm past the statue of limitations on returning it. Ugh. UGH!
Whoever made these puzzles must have been molested as a child. Impossible to go through without depending on the walkthrough and absolutely terrible pixel hunting. The half full is the enhanced dialogue and flow of events compared to its prequel Post Mortem.
A deranged cop in an absurd story with illogical puzzles. Avoid.
Like that.
