Reviews
The writing is terrible and the art is flat and lifeless, this is just more AI slop. (It probably managed to slip through before the changes to Godot accepting AI code)
The writing is bad and the art looks just as bad would not recommend too no one.
Disclaimer: My critique regarding the writing and grammar applies solely to the English translation. I cannot speak to the quality of the Chinese version. Unfortunately, in its current state, the game feels more like a late alpha or early beta version. The English grammar is often poor, and errors appear frequently. For instance, Mars' name is often written in lowercase in the dialogue box. During a conversation with Tiger, sentences sometimes inexplicably restart mid-stream, or basic typos occur (such as "mhm" being written as "Mm"). A major immersion issue is that although you "play" as Leo, the writing often treats him as a third-party character. This makes you feel more like an observer or narrator rather than Leo himself. Furthermore, the story is a bit too linear, usually offering only one choice to alter the plot—which is quite lacking for a visual novel. Visually and aurally, there are several inconsistencies: Backgrounds: Background images frequently mismatch the story's context. For example, a scene with Mars taking place in the locker room or shower shows Leo's bedroom instead. Event CGs: Special artwork (like the one where Leo and Ron cook together) occasionally contains continuity errors. The text might describe Leo stirring something with chopsticks, while the image shows him using a whisk. Character Sprites: The character models are somewhat basic and lack outfit variety, always wearing the same clothes even when the scene implies they should be dressed differently. Details are also inconsistent; Mars, for instance, sometimes loses the cross on his forehead. Audio: Transitions between background music (BGM) tracks are often too abrupt or don't quite fit the mood of the current scene. (On a side note: Since it is a fictional world, blending American university life with Asian culture is perfectly fine and adds a nice touch—surely no one would object to that.) A rough overview of areas needing improvement: More varied and context-accurate backgrounds Smoother BGM transitions and scene-appropriate tracks More character sprite and clothing variety Grammar corrections, an improved narrative perspective, and more branching choices to influence the plot The Positives: However, there are also strong positive aspects worth noting. The romanceable characters have authentic backstories (even if they are kept relatively simple—with the exception of Akio, who gets more development). The dating storylines don't just rush towards "one thing" but genuinely focus on building a romantic connection. Overall, the game has a solid foundation, especially considering that it was developed by a two-person team. As it stands, I cannot recommend this visual novel. However, I know the developers are working on updates. If the grammar and storytelling are significantly improved, I would gladly change my verdict to a positive recommendation
