About
At the dawn of the interstellar era, humanity and its machine workforce have expanded into a remote stellar neighbourhood. Explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate across the nearby stars in a real-scale, fully-3D environment to overcome your rivals, mastering military power, prosperous governance, booming industry, wealth, resources, and their separate technology trees. Choose your faction and your path to victory, but travel it alone; you’ll find no friends in the hostile and dangerous depths of space.

Planets trace realistic orbits around their stars and fleets take time to reach their targets, moving to where they will be. Journeys between stars take years, so ensure your star systems are well defended.

Many factions have made their way from the 'Cradle Stars' to these new worlds, each shaped by their past and with their own perks and variation of gameplay. Which will you choose to lead to supremacy?

Build fleets of machine ships and armies, and command them between planets and stars. Whether to explore new worlds, settle them, conquer them from your enemies, or protect your own, your military strategy and tactics will be key to survival and, if strong enough, victory.

Your citizens may live in comfort, but prosperity is never guaranteed. As the architect of their future, you must keep them satisfied and secure. Balance growth and stability as you turn fragile colonies into thriving powerhouses.

In a universe where machines have replaced humans as the workforce behind the biggest empires, you must balance creating strong and efficient machines with growing their numbers and expanding to new planets and systems.

Wealth is the lifeblood of any powerful empire, and managing it is crucial to your survival. Maintain a delicate balance of income and expenditure to ensure your empire remains strong, whilst not crumbling under its own weight.

Your faction will advance simultaneously through six distinct tech trees, each helping you move closer to interstellar dominance. From military innovations to industrial breakthroughs, each tree offers tools for success in different areas of empire-building. As you progress, you’ll need to strategically prioritize and balance your research to create synergies between the trees. Mastering the tech trees isn't just about unlocking new technologies, it's about finding the most effective routes to victory, whether through military conquest, economic prosperity, or industrial supremacy.

In Stellar Reach, you will discover 13 unique resources that are scattered across the galaxy, each playing a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of your fleets, armies and industries. Scan planets to discover when resources lie within, and expand your territory to harness them. Control of these vital resources could be the key to your victory.

Stellar Reach offers three distinct paths to victory, each with its own challenges and strategic opportunities:
Conquest: Dominate rivals through your relentless military might. Build powerful fleets, crush opponents and capture critical systems. Only the strongest will survive the worn-torn stars.
Prosperity: Focus on the well-being of your citizens by transforming a fragile colony into a bustling centre for culture and politics.
Industry: Harness the full potential of your industrial might. Develop advanced technologies and infrastructure to create an unstoppable empire of machines. Through superior production, rise to supremacy.
Choose your path to victory and adapt to the actions of your rivals!

nice
A Finnish review of the game. I like beer and space games. For the price of this game you get two pints of beer. This game has given me more enjoyment than two beers could give. Overall, the game is good and the UI becomes familiar in a few hours. So far I have only played the medium map on easy difficulty, so I have no information about other difficulty levels and AI deals with player. Didn't have problems on easy. I would like planet information for information input when I get the message that a ship or building is ready. Or the option to turn it on in the menu.
OMG but wow! Where the heck did this game come from? I hadn't even heard of it before it just snuck into my queue (I guess because I own every 4X game known to man). If you're an old school 4X nerd like me, this will absolutely blow your mind. The polish and attention to detail are first class. The tutorial--which is the ABSOLUTE BEST I've ever seen in any game, by the way--will peel away the layers of an incredibly deep game. This is grand scale 4X at it's best. No theme park on rails; no bespoke alien races; no diplomacy or allies as near as I can tell. It's just you against the universe and you'd better 4X like nobody's business! The "pause on event" nature of the gameplay makes this pretty close to a turn-based game (and, I guess my only "complaint" is that it needs more speeds beyond "too slow" and "way too frickin' fast"). Stelleas are obviously fans of the genre and the price is an absolute steal. I can see myself being groggy at work for a while...
Cool concept. I like it so far.
This game deserves some love. Although steep learning curve somewhat as you begin to grasp the mechanics of it the result is very rewarding. The price is reasonable and I am finding it to be quite enjoyable.
* * *************************************************** Update after finishing one game in each difficulty (3): The AI empires too easy to beat even in hard difficulty once you know how to develop your planets. And that is what this game is about, developing your planets. Exploration is bit of let down because all systems are very much a like, no wonders of space to be found. All systems are just equally good to settle. Once you get your planets and economy in good shape you can (and need) to build endlessly ships. Then you send your fleets to destroy smaller enemy fleets. There is not much tactics in the battles and bigger numbers generally win. Later it gets somewhat boring just to add ships and buildings to the build queue. Graphics and music are nice but I'll put this aside for now and check later if it has improved. **************************************************** Seems deeper than I initially thought. Just started new game with harder difficulty so we shall see how the AI fares. I keep my fingers crossed that game will get some improvements in updates. It is fun now but it could be better. It could be the difference between good and classic game. Rogue AI fleets spawning out of nowhere is the biggest issue for me. Where are they coming from since I need to have a spaceport to build ships but they do not? You can't stop them from spawning so you need keep fleets guarding your worlds. I would rather concentrate my efforts against the other factions. After while it gets annoying. It would make more sense if they were made somewhere and you could wipe that place and be done with it. Or there was fixed number of them roaming around. EDIT: Means to delay spawn rate was added in patch. But it is still annoying and forces you to keep defense fleet in your systems to deal with these ships spawning out of thin air. Space battles could be more visual. Now the ships just stand there and blow up. I don't usually even zoom in to battles as there is not much to see. The battles usually happen in planet orbits so it would be nice to see some small firing and explosions happening in the distance even when you don't zoom all the way in. Some kind of manual is needed. There are some complex mechanics and now you need to guess what different things mean. There is a tutorial but it is quite long and lot of things go unmentioned. Science and techtree are also quite meh. You have several branches that you research at the same time. Basically you don't have lot of freedom what to research but just choose the next tech to be researched. Some descriptions about planets would bring more depth to the game. Now you have just few stats about the planets. It also looks bit odd that they are the same size. It would be nice detail if gas giants would also look bigger than smaller planets. Different ship types are also bit lacking. You start with cruisers and can develop carriers, frigates and destroyers later. But since the cruiser is fastest to move between systems I just spammed them and had no trouble with enemy fleets. EDIT: This was also changed in patch and now other ships are more viable.
It's interesting.
A bit odd and the UI takes getting used to but it is quite fun, the enjoyment is similar to scaling in something like eu5.
This is a fun little 4x game that works well, few bugs. Some interesting systems and tech tree/economy features.
