About
At the dawn of the interstellar era, humanity and its machine workforce have expanded into a remote stellar neighbourhood. Explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate across the nearby stars in a real-scale, fully-3D environment to overcome your rivals, mastering military power, prosperous governance, booming industry, wealth, resources, and their separate technology trees. Choose your faction and your path to victory, but travel it alone; you’ll find no friends in the hostile and dangerous depths of space.

Planets trace realistic orbits around their stars and fleets take time to reach their targets, moving to where they will be. Journeys between stars take years, so ensure your star systems are well defended.

Many factions have made their way from the 'Cradle Stars' to these new worlds, each shaped by their past and with their own perks and variation of gameplay. Which will you choose to lead to supremacy?

Build fleets of machine ships and armies, and command them between planets and stars. Whether to explore new worlds, settle them, conquer them from your enemies, or protect your own, your military strategy and tactics will be key to survival and, if strong enough, victory.

Your citizens may live in comfort, but prosperity is never guaranteed. As the architect of their future, you must keep them satisfied and secure. Balance growth and stability as you turn fragile colonies into thriving powerhouses.

In a universe where machines have replaced humans as the workforce behind the biggest empires, you must balance creating strong and efficient machines with growing their numbers and expanding to new planets and systems.

Wealth is the lifeblood of any powerful empire, and managing it is crucial to your survival. Maintain a delicate balance of income and expenditure to ensure your empire remains strong, whilst not crumbling under its own weight.

Your faction will advance simultaneously through six distinct tech trees, each helping you move closer to interstellar dominance. From military innovations to industrial breakthroughs, each tree offers tools for success in different areas of empire-building. As you progress, you’ll need to strategically prioritize and balance your research to create synergies between the trees. Mastering the tech trees isn't just about unlocking new technologies, it's about finding the most effective routes to victory, whether through military conquest, economic prosperity, or industrial supremacy.

In Stellar Reach, you will discover 13 unique resources that are scattered across the galaxy, each playing a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of your fleets, armies and industries. Scan planets to discover when resources lie within, and expand your territory to harness them. Control of these vital resources could be the key to your victory.

Stellar Reach offers three distinct paths to victory, each with its own challenges and strategic opportunities:
Conquest: Dominate rivals through your relentless military might. Build powerful fleets, crush opponents and capture critical systems. Only the strongest will survive the worn-torn stars.
Prosperity: Focus on the well-being of your citizens by transforming a fragile colony into a bustling centre for culture and politics.
Industry: Harness the full potential of your industrial might. Develop advanced technologies and infrastructure to create an unstoppable empire of machines. Through superior production, rise to supremacy.
Choose your path to victory and adapt to the actions of your rivals!

This game is definitely a passion project by the dev, and it shows. There need to be some more quality of life improvements in fleet and colony management, but the dev is actively updating the game. I reported a bug last night and it's already patched out. Impressive.
Not gonna lie, it took several starts to get a grip on how to play, get the info I was looking for and understand the UI, but once I did this turned out to be quite a clever and interesting game. Sure it is not a AAA or even AA game, but there is a lot of love and thought gone into it. Anybody into space games like Distant Worlds will find a light version with its own spin and ideas.

Great 4x set in a small 3d star cluster. I especially like the music that plays during the game.
I like the game so far, but I'd like to see it improve in a few ways. More time options. 3x weeks, 3x years could be cool options. I do like 3x months but I yearn for a bit more or less at times. The fleet combat is in a good place, but why make carriers manual when everything else is auto? It doesn't really make sense and bogs down the game with micromanagement when carriers are in play. Needs another look. UI could use a bit of a spruce up in some areas. The small text size increase is too much in some places, but not enough in others. Toggleable Settings for when notifications slow the time. I had the AI spamming 1 ship fleets at me and slowing the time every few seconds for almost an hour. Very annoying. I'd like to be able to control when the game slows automatically. I enjoy the music and the minimalistic feel of just watching my Planets spin around. It's relaxing. I also enjoy stomping AI fleets with overwhelming numbers, and watching my other numbers go up. Great game!
The game is a buggy mess that seems to be built for mobile platforms. The amount of memory allocated to it is wild for not a lot going on graphically, so there must be something more. Dont know if its commie space slop because the economy doesnt economy. Resources dont seem to be implemented they dont seem to effect the economy much everything is cost so not much benifit to building the. Its a fun concept and a little work it could be great.
This is a great space 4x game that packs a lot in and is very well presented for something created by a solo developer. There are certainly QoL improvements needed (its not always very clear what you can click on and move around, and while the tutorial does explain it, I can imagine I would forget half of it quickly). However, it has a fantastic balance of depth and micromanagement with breadth and strategy.
Tentative thumbs up. If the game had better UI around fleet management and economy management, it would be so much better. As is, these two share the common weaknesses of most space 4X games, becoming more and more cumbersome as the game goes on. For fleets, it really needs a fleet manager like Stellaris or Distant Worlds 2 (or better). Building and adding ships manually is a drag - I just want to top up based on a template I define. For the economy, it feels like there is a lot of interesting developments going on under the hood, but are not well communicated in the UI nor easy to understand how to manage. This feels like a really great economy mechanic, just lacking the UI to make it interest for the player to either track (which is fine) or tinker with ocassionally. I personally do NOT want a system like the Endless Space games (and most 4X) where I build the same series of buildings on all planets, over and over. Great the planets have unique features that (maybe) shakes that up.
As a new game in an old and beloved genre with a great many good games like the space based 4x genre it is hard to stand out, especially as a solo developer, yet Stellar Reach has grabbed my attention. New and reimagined ideas that provide a fresh breeze while simplifying or cutting other staple systems of the genre while still being a 4x game to the core. That being said the game needs a lot more polishing to been done with quite a bit of bugfixing, balancing and QoL improvement necessary. Those fans of the genre, who like to experience different games and different ideas, I would recommend the game even now, more so after a few patches.
