Steel & Steam takes the best elements from the fantasy JRPG’s of old, such as great stories, awesome characters, and classic monsters, and combines them with a touch of steampunk. It’s like taking Lord of the Rings and mixing in the Wild West.

This game's concept is cool, but the way it was executed is so bad.

RPG Maker strikes again! This is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel JRPG ripoffs spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club weeaboo fan fiction. This is a particularly bad RPG Maker game, the only key point of distinction is they tried (and failed) to make some kind of fantasy/western theme, which, yeah, is a terrible idea that nobody asked for, and surprising nobody, doesn't work. Somehow this got into a Humble Bundle and, in all honesty, I expected better from Humble. Anyway, the developer was wise enough to fall on their sword and pull this sad little abomination from Steam, so, kudos to the developer for showing more self awareness than most indie shovelware makers have. Gamers who want a good retro JRPG experience would be better off playing the originals, like Final Fantasy, Star Ocean or Chrono Trigger. Leave this terrible fan fiction in the shovelware bundles where it belongs.
2/10
It is game maker game you you can expect low auslity in visuals and mechanics, there are exceptions to this rule but this game is not one of them
Not my cup of tea, there's far too much space and far too little action.
0/10 runs out of steam pretty fast World map too large for the little there is actually to explore, town hub too big for what little houses you can actually enter and graphics that don't fit together make this a tedious unenjoyable game. Sometimes the game tries to make fun of the genre and JRP sterotypes but that doesn't work if the game itself is the biggest joke. Avoid.
