About
Steel Seed — a gripping action-adventure game from the visionary team behind the critically acclaimed Close to the Sun, set in a dark sci-fi world where humanity stands on the brink of extinction. Join protagonist Zoe and her flying drone companion, KOBY, as they investigate the depths of a hostile underground facility in search of answers and the key to the survival of mankind.
After a catastrophic event rendered Earth uninhabitable, machines took control of the remnants of humanity’s survival. The underground facility is a vast, machine-built structure designed for machines — not humans. Each region presents unique environmental storytelling, hazards, and secrets waiting to be uncovered. From towering industrial landscapes to eerie biodomes, the world of Steel Seed is as haunting as it is immersive. Explore a hand-crafted world filled with dynamic combat, formidable enemies, and an immersive narrative that challenges the very definition of humanity.
Zoe isn’t alone — her only ally is Koby, a prototype drone designed to assist her. Initially just a tool, Koby becomes a crucial partner, offering guidance and solving puzzles through environmental interactions. Though it communicates only through chirps and visual cues, Koby becomes Zoe’s emotional anchor in an otherwise desolate world. They create a formidable duo by working together and bringing something new to every fight.
Adapt your playstyle with a unique blend of stealth-action gameplay:
Stealth & Strategy – Utilize shadows, distractions, and the environment to evade or take down enemies.
Dynamic Combat – Face off against various enemy types and challenging bosses, each with unique abilities.
Upgradeable Abilities – Customize Zoe’s playstyle with three distinct skill trees featuring 40 different upgrades.
Highly interactive environments encourage creative problem-solving, making every encounter feel strategic and rewarding.
Steel Seed isn’t just about survival — it’s about exploring the fine line between human and machine, trust and control, resilience and despair. Revised and edited by BAFTA-winning writer Martin Korda, it pairs an intriguing main character's evolution with a compelling and deep narrative experience.

C'est très bon....après 3 heures de jeu, je recommande pour tous les amateurs d'infiltration/plateforme
Well, I love it. The visuals are gorgeous, the combat feels satisfying, and the story kept me invested the whole way through.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

To start with what I liked about this. Resource management was very well balanced, I could typically afford most of what I was looking for but always wanted more without new upgrades ever feeling impossibly expensive. The way that new abilities were unlocked by associated actions kept gameplay engaging - though a pinning function would have been nice to remember what I was trying to do any how much I had left. The art directing was superb, the environments feel both incomprehensively massive and appropriately detailed without being too cluttered - most of the time. Everything else was disappointing to actively awful. The plot was at once both extremely predictable with betrayals and deaths exactly where they were expected, and utterly incoherent with characters frequently citing off-screen plans that are never properly explained unless you decide to scavenge for logs and stop your stealth-action to do useless homework. Combat was usually alright if not for elites that were immune to your hacked allies and the sentry gunners that would just kill you if they saw you. Collision detection is poorly polished and more than once I lost a cleared area because I got stuck in front of an enemy that just slowly murdered me. The animations are shockingly well polished for how frustratingly slow and generally unimpactful they feel. The MC's voice acting is so wooden and shallow that it's impossible to take anything she says seriously; I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that a silent protagonist would require essentially no adjustment and work much better. We're supposed to become instantly emotionally attached to a character whose only function is a marketable mascot that keeps throwing itself into gunfire or pressing needlessly convoluted buttons. There is so little regard for its own story, openly contradicting itself multiple times; a non-physical character being killed with a sword, an irrational antagonist that just magically turns into an ally, an impossibly powerful antagonist just falls over and dies in a cutscene, the MC is praised for her inquisitiveness despite *never asking a question ever*. The save points and checkpoint system is often frustrating, respawning enemies in immediate proximity while still depleting your energy and ammo. Far too many instant-kill zones and explosions. Essentially nothing in the way of useful tutorials, I was halfway through the game before I randomly discovered Koby's tool wheel. Elites don't show up as elites until combat starts so planning an approach is difficult to do until you've screwed up and died so you know who is who. The headshot mechanic is frustratingly unreliable, sometimes just starting combat instead of picking off a sentry. The incessant cutscene paralysis, making me wait to see what arbitrary limitation or problem I was about to be saddled with because the MC doesn't have two neurons to rub together. I could keep going for a while, but I feel I have made my point. If you really love stealth-action gameplay and can cover your ears for the dialogue, it may be worth your time. Otherwise, don't bother.
The only thing I have a complaint about is that occasionally the camera will be locked into place not allowing free movement of it.

Nice game...but not that nice...
